Broke before we ever were able to use it for the rain. Spoke splintered and sent my toddler to the ER!!!
My toddler was so excited to use this and opened it a few times indoors. When it finally rained and he was ready to take it outside, one of the spoke broke and it splintered in such a weird way that it sent sharp pains through my son’s fingers everywhere.
While I was inspecting the damage I also got half a dozen splinters in my fingers. They are so thin (like almost fiber glass like) so it’s impossible to see with naked eye, therefore we couldn’t remove them. Had to take him to the ER. Even now as I’m typing this my fingers are still feeling pins and needles. I can only imagine the pain my 4-yr-old had to experience.
We love Skip Hop, he so many water bottles and backpacks. But this umbrella was a major disappointment. I wish I can still ask for a refund. Wouldn’t make up for the ER cost or the grief it caused my little one but at least I’d feel better not having paid money for a piece of junk.
