Sound quality is where these standout. Once you get a good fit, the treble, mids, and bass are perfectly balanced. The only complaint I would have about the sound quality is the volume is a bit low. I am an iOS user and while using iTunes with the sound check on they aren’t very loud, turning sound check off didn’t help much either and it increased distortion on bass heavy songs. I also tried with Pandora, Tidal, YouTube, and DirecTV Now and they’re all fairly low. YouTube had a small amount of latency that was barely noticeable. DirecTV Now has no latency at all. The microphone sound quality and voice sound quality during phone calls is not as good as my Power Beat 2s.
This is one of the major issues. Music will constantly stop while playing these and I’ve also had issues with the left bud losing its connection completely during a workout which was extremely frustrating. Although the instructions do a good job explaining how re-pair the buds to one another, the process is more complicated than it is with other devices. This may not be a big issue to some people, but switching between devices is a pain. I do not take my phone in the gym or on runs, I stream from my Apple Watch, and switching devices is not a smooth process.
I’m 50/50 on this. The left side fits perfectly, but I struggle with the right bud every time I put them in. I’ve tried different tips and still can’t get a solid fit with the right bud. And this fit is the biggest problem for these to me. Since the right bud is always falling out or halfway in my ear, I’m constantly pushing it in which activates the touch controls…usually me turning them off so, I end up stopping and fumbling around with these for a little while to get it to stay in my right ear. However, this will not be an issue to everyone, so I can’t knock the design too much for my lack of ear symmetry.
Finally, would I recommend these or not? It depends on how you want to use them. If you don’t switch devices a lot and have the right sized ears, then I would I say these are pretty good for the price. However, connectivity is something that will need to be worked out or perhaps it’s better on non-iOS devices. I would like to hear feedback from an Android user to see if the volume and connectivity issues are an iOS issue. I’ll say give them a try you can always return them if they don’t’ fit.
The tough controls are clumsy, with the volume increments way too large to find the level you want without actually just doing it from the phone.
Most infuriatingly, the left and right ear buds do not stay synced up with each other. I am a long distance driver and listen to audiobooks all day—somewhere between 30 seconds and 5 minutes after turning on my book/podcast, the sound ticks over from being fine to having a slight echo between the two buds. It might be fine for music, but for spoken word media it drives me absolutely nuts!!
I do think these look nice, and are very lightweight. A little uncomfortable for long wear, but not nearly as excruciating as that echo. The search continues...
According to their support, this is it. They can only be paired to 1 device. These are going back and I’m finding something else.
They're touch, like the apple airpods, not buttons. Which is easily the most preferred by wireless users but in listening to music, especially while working out is difficult. They slip out and since they're touch, I'm changing the volume the whole time I'm trying to put it back in. That being said, skipping songs is also difficult while moving, even harder while working out. You have to press and hold for 5 seconds. Sounds easy enough until you need to use it.
Got my warranty replacement and am happy to have them back!
First off, I think the ear nub should be in a fixed location with less aggressive seems, maybe have them lay flush by tapering the silicon edges. The rest is all on the up an up for me. I've had airpods as well as bose sound sports and these are more of a hybrid. On that note, the plus about the removable nub is that you can go without, and that is pretty nice. Also if they could make a more universal opening where the bud nests in the case it would allow for alternate tips to be used and thus allowing a wider range of the market. Might go along with the removable nub feature and be a cool marketing play; "the customizable bud".. like the Scion (cars) of earbuds lol .....thanks, buy em' and make sure you have fun with them so you can have music in the extremes and then get a new pair if something goes wrong!!!
Top international reviews
1. Design: I personally like the stem design of apple airpods. Skullcandy has a similar design but these are slightly larger than air pods. The charging case is also a bit bigger in size but fits easily in pocket. These fit very nicely in the ears and are very comfortable to put on. Sound isolation is really good.
2. Look and feel : These ear buds looks cool. However, the quality of plastic is a bit flimsy. They are also very lightweight which makes them even more comfortable to use.
3. Sound: These ear buds sound way better than airpods. There's a nice balance between bass and treble. Sound is crisp and clear and is accompanied with a deep bass. The bass is not overpowering and gels very nicely with treble. If you are a fan of rock music then definitely go for these.
4. Controls: like the airpods, these ear buds also feature touch controls which are very easy to use.
5. Battery life: battery life is decent. You'll get approx. 3hrs of battery life with additional 12 hrs from the case.
The only con is the pricing. In my opinion these earphones should be priced around 5.5-6k. As compared to apple, this really is a steal but then again you have cheaper alternatives like the noise shots x5.
I am a music person. Sound quality is very important for me.
I have used quite a few Skullcandys in past with a brief stint with Beats over ear, have tried Bose and Sennheiser too.
Indy is the worst when it comes to sound quality. Poor bass and it's just pathetic over all.
Do not buy this headphone if sound quality matters to you.
It took me just 20 mins to make up my mind to return this headset.
On top of this, the case and ear piece is made of poor quality plastic.
They look good, no doubt. If that's all you want then go for it.
+ Sound quality has been top.
+ With the stability gels they stay well, super stable, in my ears.
+ Batteries last forever! I haven't had a moment where the buds ran out of power... granted I haven't worn them non-stop of more than 4 hours so they recharge fast when I put them back in the case while not listening to music.
+ Being able to control the volume, tracking, pause/play on the buds without having to use my phone has been awesome.
+- Mistakenly disconnected the left bud from the right once which was annoying but was able to reconnect pretty quickly after checking out the product setup videos on their website so wasn't an issue and now know how to fix it if it happens again.
+- Calls are are ok but not great. Sound quality on calls is good when not too much background noise but in a busy cafe not a good option.
++++ Overall great true wireless buds from a cool brand at an awesome price!
Useless at noise cancellation, an uncomfortable for meant continuous effort to try and keep them in the ear.
The Blume is stupidly low, even on full volume on my phone. The noise cancelling only worked of the bids sat properly in the ear, but as stated above when running or working out in the gym they work loose. When trying to put them back in place, the volume sensor would think your trying to turn volume down.
All in all don’t waste your money as they are utterly useless
I have always been a fan of Skullcandy since high school as their product line is affordable and the quality is considered fine given that price range. However, this Indy TWS earbuds disappointed me.
I purchased this item since it's cheaper than Air Pods, at the same time, it is new so there is an INTRO-OFFER pricing available. In addition, there is an Amazon warehouse item for sale. Thanks to Amazon prime, delivery was quick. However, once I opened the box, I noticed that the default M size earbuds tips missing. This is not really a fault on the manufacturer's side; but Amazon warehouse. The inspection was clearly not done with care.
Regarding the performance of the item, Skullcandy never fails me on the quality of the sound. However, the connection constantly drops. This is something I don't experience much with other Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds. They are supposed to be more stable than the previous gen bluetooth 4.x earbuds. However, not the case here. The sizing are weird; even though I do not have the M size tips, I tried on both the S and L, and notice it fell out of my ears very easily, not secure enough for regular activities.
Conclusion: would not recommend purchasing this product. If you want to buy Skullcandy TWS earbuds, maybe wait for the 3rd gen to come out. (1st: push, 2nd: indy)
The sound is a little too bass heavy at times but the mids and highs are nicely balanced. By lowering the low gain in the music player EQ it solves the bass heaviness issue for me and balances the sound evenly to what most would desire.
Perfectly balanced in terms of looks, sounds, ease of use, and good amounts of noise cancelling also.
Can't ask for more! They're best for a pair of true wireless earphones in this price range and you won't even need or want to see any further after using these!
They are super lightweight so really comfortable to wear and the sound quality is really clear - brilliant. The soft rubber seals around the edge of each bud really help to cancel out any outside noise too which only improves the quality of sound.
They’re very easy to operate with a touch sensitive tap/hold system to adjust the volume and track selection (use the right to increase volume and skip a track, left to reduce volume and go back a track), so no more messing around with my phone!
They arrived with over 50% charge and despite wearing them for most of the afternoon yesterday and around the house all morning today, I’ve not had to recharge them yet so the battery life is another positive.
All in all, I’m really impressed with these, especially for the price. A great buy!
On my last note though, the battery life of these were unexpectedly amazing, they lasted me agesssss
I used to use these all the time when I was working on site, and they would last me about 5 days that's just on work hours, that's roughly 30 to 35 hours, that's impressive.
Sound Quality Is Poor
And I Have Placed For Return On The Day I Received The Product i.e 07-08-2019 But They Haven't Came To Collect It Till Now.
Now Cancelled The Return And Using It
