The breaks are mostly one of the earphones just stopping to work. However, when my wife's first unit died for the second time, it was having all sorts of problems ranging from earphone not working to general sound being quiet. The second time my first unit died was because the microphone stopped working and would shred the ears of anyone on voice chat with me.
I really am at a loss for words. I like Skullcandy as a brand due to their earbuds, and I liked the sound quality of these headphones, but the lackluster quality is just simply unbelievable. Everything in this post is 100% true, and even I can't believe it upon reflection. 4 pairs of headsets purchased, 5 total instances of them breaking with no physical abuse whatsoever.
Great Soundstage for the price, even beating out its bigger cousin, Astro A50's
Clean Low's and nice present Mid/Highs
Game/Voice chat is great
Not loud enough
Build Quality (get em for the sound, but be very careful with these sets)
mini usb dated
ear cups too small for my taste.
Some reviews have complained that the components are weak and will break. So far I haven't had any issues with this and I haven't even felt incredibly worried about any pieces feeling fragile. However, I am very careful with my accessories. This gets put back on the stand as soon as I am done with it. It never lays on the couch or gets tossed down on the coffee table. It is always either on the stand or on my head.
I also really like the stand. It looks very clean. However, it really sucks if you want to only use it as the receiver, or if you need it to fit in a short space.
Now on-to the headset itself:
The surround sound is simulated, but it definitely adds directionality to the sound. When I put this headset on it feels like the sound is still coming from the TV and filling the whole room. The controls on the headphones are easy once you get used to them. Unfortunately, I can't fully review the microphone portion yet. I had network issues at my old apartment and didn't get to use it. I have used it for voice commands and I didn't have any issue with that. In terms of comfort I like how it feels. I generally don't game for longer than ~4 hours in one sessions, so I don't know if it would start to hurt over longer periods of time.
Overall, this is a great headset for the money. It might not meet the standards of someone who has owned much more expensive high-end headsets, but for me it has been perfect.

Great volume and surround sound in the headphones. I can hear what is going around me in game very easily. I do find that other gamers are a little hard to hear over the in game sounds. This is even when i have switched the balance to voice audio rather than gaming audio.
I don't consider myself to have a particularly large head, but after a solid session of gaming (3hrs) i find that i do get sore ears. still the foamy pads are comfortable and after using these for a month or so i would recommend them to my friends especially for the price.
