This book is a beautifully written story describing the refined and intimate relationship between a teacher and student in the Buddhist tradition. The teacher, Yeshe Tsogyal, is well known in traditional Tibetan Buddhist teachings. This book offers insight into her special life and her inter-relationship with her students. I have read this book several times and each time I read it I discover new layers of meaning. This book is probably better understood by tthose with some knowledge of Buddhism in general, and Tibetan Buddhism in particular. A very fine book.

Both are wonderful books; however, "Sky Dancer" requires a much higher level of practice on the part of the reader to get the most out of it. On the other hand, because it is so beautifully written, one can simply enjoy it without pushing oneself to understand every word. The book can and should be read many times. If the reader is a Buddhist practitioner, more will be understood as the reader's own level of practice continues to advance.
