Turns out I failed to do just that.
My initial experience with SkyTech was excellent. Truly! I had requested red LED fans at the front of the tower and the builders customized the build before shipment with splendid communication. My computer arrived a day earlier than expected and I spent three glorious afternoons gaming with the best quality graphics I have ever seen. I was absolutely in love.
On the third day, my darling computer, whom I had named Valkyrie, refused to start. I tapped the power button and.....nothing. I check the cables to make sure that nothing is unplugged and try again. Still nothing. I research and wrack my brains for over an hour and eventually the front fans blink when I hold down the power button. I have done nothing to damage or harm the computer in any way. I know it could not have been a human error on my part.
I currently am awaiting a response from SkyTech (it is Sunday now; I received the computer Thursday night) and I will edit this review with an update on how SkyTech treats issues such as this one. Until then, I will determine my review a 3/5. While it worked, this computer was absolutely amazing. But three days of amazing graphics simply doesn't cut it for me.... fingers crossed for good news in the upcoming days.
Good news! Customer service responded the next day and offered a number of options from replacing the power supply, fixing the machine, replacing the machine, or refunding my purchase. I decided to give it a chance and had them send me a new power supply, which arrived in four days. In no time at all, Valkyrie was purring like a kitten. I'm able to run high-quality games and demanding programs without issue and it's been just under a week with no crash. I would recommend getting a better power supply if you intend to do a lot of intense gaming or video editing, so explore your options with SkyTech before buying. Super happy with this purchase and 100% would recommend both product and seller.
His first gaming PC has been simply amazing, everything works like a champ. I'd also like to point out it comes with Windows 10 Pro, most everything else available is Win 10 Home which won't allow for tweaking near as much.
He loves it and I'm actually jealous of him now because his PC has more RAM and a better processor than my own. I'm a 20 veteran of the I.T. industry and my personal PC is supposed to be better than everyone else's LoL.
It's an amazing price for a rock solid and super high performance PC, worth every single last penny of it!
If you want a rock solid workstation or you want to start using Steam and PC gaming but this unit!
Have had this PC for over a year now still zero issues unlike the unlucky people that bought this. I love alot of things about this but also still disliked the effort put into building it. It is alright workmanship but still could be better. Extra note: LOL now they have there own keyboard, mouse and stickers wow they have grown as company!
Original Review 11/27/16
Was very excited when I got this set it all up and it was amazing. Great for gaming at about 70 fps on GTA 5 and Overwatch. Runs Autodesk Inventor amazing. If your looking for an affordable gaming or work PC definitely say this one fits. The added wifi receiver is a nice addition.
I have had this pc now for 2 months. NO problems since. Since then Ive put in two more fans and replaced the graphics card to a Rog Strix Gtx 1060 and added 32gb of ram. Its holding up great. There will be another update in a month! OK so now it is June 2017 I have had no performance issues, but i realize sometimes the front to fans rattle, that is because there are ONLY 2 screws holding the 2 FANS on. There should be EIGHT! It took me 6 months to realize. luckily I had 6 extra screws from ones I had purchased. My motherboard also is missing a screw in the top left. This is still 5 stars because prebuilt pcs cant get better than this unless you build one.
Update: Something I've noticed after just a week of usage is that the CPU fan (I'm guessing) is making this loud buzzing noise when I start to push it. Once I open up Overwatch on medium settings while streaming some music (with everything else closed) the computer gets stressed and starts to make this very loud buzzing. its pretty awful, thank god for headphones. You can hear the buzzing from down the hall. I've also replaced the fan on the back, which I thought was the problem, but turns out wasn't. I'm just wondering if upgrading the ram to 16 gigs and putting in an SSD would possibly help take some strain off the CPU? Any theories? I don't have as much knowledge as I would like about computer hardware.
Update: I contacted SkyTech support and they were able to diagnose the buzzing to the CPU fan. They sent me a replacement at no cost and after installing it the buzzing is now completely gone and its quieter than ever even when I'm running games like Overwatch while having other applications and my browser open. Such great service! Highly recommend! If you may ever have an issue, SkyTech support will do whatever they can to fix it.
