Fantastic 6th Skylanders game worth playing.

Okay, where to start? First off, this game is pretty basic, meaning you won't find "gimmicks" like Swap Force, Trap Team, or Superchargers. That's not a bad thing; this game is packed with everything, and even has online racing (even if you don't have vehicles from Superchargers, you can still play with the digital vehicles). The game has gorgeous graphics, although I feel for Wii U, they kept the graphics a little lower than for the PS4 and XBO, which is unfair seeing as the Wii U has the capabilities to show smoother graphics. The game's map is large, but there are only 10 levels, and you get 2 more with adventure packs, and 1 more with Crash Bandicoot. Still, the map is large, and has many "doors" to mini-levels that can confuse you when traveling around, so it can get confusing, but it's a fun way to get around Skylands. In later levels, things can get extremely confusing with the too many enemies on the screen, and if you play on Hard from the start, this can cause you to lose Skylanders easily since you cannot even see which enemy is attacking or from where. Another note to take into consideration (and the reason I don't give this 5 Stars) is that the old Skylanders feel like they have been nerfed (weakened) for this game! Only the Eon's Elite Skylanders seem to retain a bit of power, and it's not as much as in older games. All in all, this is a great 6th Skylander game, and worth picking up and playing.

Great Game But Be Aware of Costly Add Ons

A nice addition to the Skylander's franchise, but it can be complicated for younger kids or those not familiar with other Sylander's games. The original Skylanders and Giants are simpler, since you only need to purchase the Skylander figures, but in later versions there are the figures plus additional items to purchase for users to utilize the full game. This means spending A TON of money on each game. For example, for Imaginators you need to purchase the figures plus creation crystals (and then additional mystery gear packages if you want to have all options for your player). Figures are about $15 a pop, $10 for crystals and $6 for mystery gear packages. ...... If you just play with the figures included, it would become boring very quickly. However, if you are able to purchase several other figures, the game is really immersive and interesting, something kids will always reach for (and adults enjoy as well). Bonus is that the figures are made well, my kids enjoy playing with them outside of the video game, and I appreciate that!

I really cannot say enough about the Skylanders games. My son is eleven years old and has loved every single one of the Skylanders games. The fact that you can create your own Skylander for this particular version is outstanding. Even though this is a video game, it engages the children to be creative and use the minds to imagine and have fun. The great thing about this game is that the characters can be played with with the video game, and also without the video game. I highly recommend this video game for everyone from 5 years old and up....I've even had the opportunity to play this game with my son and I must admit it is tons of fun!

I'm giving this a 5 star review because the 9 year old LOVES it! Lots of fun and he was super excited to be able to make new characters. Plus I got it for a fantastic price on Amazon. However, as a parent the sheer fact that each Sensei character is $15 and each Creation Crystal is $10 is just crazy...CRAZY EXPENSIVE!! Not to mention we have all of the Skylanders games and there were so many portals, characters and traps/crystals around my living room I had to get a storage container to house all of it. However, it makes my kid happy and he has fun playing it by himself and with his dad. Fun. That's what really matters right?

Bought this for my 10 year old son and I to play together. Graphics are great and it's a standard Skylanders storyline. Nothing really that different from previous, just a new storyline with new characters. While you can get through the whole game without buying any new characters, you can't play all the additional levels without buying the appropriate character to unluck it. I think this is better than the last Superchargers game, but about the same as Swapforce. Solid fun, especially if you get it used or on sale. I paid $35 on a Christmas sale and would say it's worth it.

As a family we are long time skylander fans. So far this game is up to par with the rest of the skylander series. We love being able to create new characters and the new puzzles. However, there are 2 things i wish could change. 1 The skylander characters are really adding up and taking up lots of space, especially if you have all series or most series. So hopefully they will make them digital so you can purchase codes for them and download them on line, 2. wish the crystals could hole more then one created character. Other then that we absolutely love these games

My grandson loves this better than his other games now. He loves being able to create his own character and he can play levels without buying additional characters. I already have 2 different skylanders game systems at my house but this became the game of choice so it went to my daughter's house.I didn't make my own character but I enjoyed learning how to play. I like that my grandson can take the characters he already has and use them with this system. I do miss seeing all the figures lined up by my TV.

You have to spend a lot of money on creation crystals and others characters to be able to finish it completely, once a character is added to the crystal, it cannot be reset, the game itself is nice and entertaining, but not worth the investment...
