Lightning Rod is one of the most underrated figures of all the Skylanders. There is this thought that because his damage numbers aren't impressively high that he is weak. But rest assured, he gets the job down. In most games (Trap Team had messed up battle mechanics), Lightning Rod stuns most of his opponents as he is striking them with bolts, disrupting attacks and holding them in place for a bit. This gives you time to reposition, deal with lesser threats, or even just spam shots at the same tough enemy until they are defeated.

He also has a high amount of hit points for a ranged character, falling in line more with many of your melee damage dealers.

This is also one of the older figures, so it won't take that much room on your shelf.

Came in original packaging, arrived earlier than it was supposed to! I have tested if it actually works on the game and it works great. It's also in its original packaging! It also came with some stickers, a card, and a digital code. Almost perfect condition!

My kid has been wanting this particular Skylander and we finally decided to get it for him. He was stoked!

Things I like about Skylanders:
Figurines make the game more tangible for the kids (my kid even plays with the figurines sometimes)
Figurines make it easy for kids to switch characters (no menu to go through)
Action & 'battle' scenes are very minor as far as violence goes (but keep in mind, the characters do fight each other)
Content is age appropriate. There isn't any extreme, graphic violence

Things I do not like about Skylanders:
It's still a video game - LOL (obviously I'm not totally against them but they sure are a time suck)

My oldest son, now 12, loved playing the very first PS2 game where Spyro was introduced, so it was little wonder his younger brother, now 7, showed an interest in Skylanders. He loves collecting all his favorite characters to see what they are capable of in the game; he lines them up in a row on his window ledge so he can admire all their unique characteristics. For someone who struggles to pay attention for long periods of time, this has been a wonderful way to stimulate his creativity and his problem-solving abilities.

Wish the package didn't look like it'd been opened then returned. It was taped shut, and then just fell open in my hand. I was embarrassed wrapping it as a gift. Worked ok and was a good price, plus it came very fast. Still, I was pretty worried it would not work for the child I got it for since it looked pre-owned or something or opened and returned. The couple of dollars I saved wasn't worth the worry to me, and I would've returned it had there been time before Christmas.

I ordered this for my son, he has the latest Skylanders game and the past figures are compatible with it. He hasn't used this [particular figure yet, as it's going to be a gift, but it arrived in one piece, just as expected. He has loved every Skylanders figure he's gotten, the more the merrier. They are good quality game pieces. Sturdy enough that they can be used as regular toys as well.

This was a great gift for my 7 year old great grandson! The most wonderful experience was sitting him in front of the computer at the Amazon site and letting him pick exactly what he wanted! I only wish I had been able to record that time for him to see when he was much older! It was as much fun as being there myself on Christmas morning and watching him open his presents! Just can't have more fun than that!
