Another awesome Skylanders game

This adds to my daughter's Skylanders collection and was her reward for outstanding work at school. she has been wanting this since seeing the advertisement on TV and the displays at the local stores. the addition of Donkey Kong and Bowser added to her excitement for the game. The game play is similar to the previous Skylanders game, but with the addition of the vehicles. this games has provided many hours of play and the replay factor is very high. The connection of the players in the game is still annoying but because it's not a split screen setup it's a good way of keeping everyone in the same fighting area. My daughter's friend are new to Skylanders so having the single screen allows her to "guide" her friends forward to complete the many levels. My wife on the other hand hates being dragged around and forced to move forward without exploring and breaking everything on the screen. like other Skylanders game, This requires a lot of Skylanders characters and Skylanders vehicles to complete the entire game. For my daughter having the individual characters and the ability to transfer the stats from one Skylanders game to the others is what keeps her wanting more characters. Having to purchase all the additional characters and vehicles is very costly, but we use it in a rewards system for her good grades.

The game I bought for two kids. I was able to get some skylander giants and superchargers for sale from Christmas's sales. And was given as a present .
The game has nice balance of toys for both girl and boys.
The game comes with a toy for a girl and one for a boy. Exactly what I was looking for. So I bought the plane for the girl to supercharge.
All toys brom previous games are compatible on this game, that's a great option for people that already have previous skylander toys.
The downside is the portal, it doesn't light up and I got some toys that light up with the portal, that's very disappointing. I have read that old portals can be used on this game, but won't recognize the toys all the time. But to have the toys to light up I will try get an old base instead . the trap team portal or giants are recommended for this game on some forums

As for the gameplay, the game has lots of characters to choose, something that will make kids keep coming back to play more. And you can finish the game with the toys that come with the starter pack

Also you will need matching toys to supercharge. It's not really needed . but any toy can ride any car, that's a plus

My daughter loves this game. We have played it a few times and it is so much fun. Don't listen to the complaints about the game or be afraid of the crazy price drops. We bought this for full price and have no complaints. There has been quite a few people bashing this starter pack and it is one of the funnest yet. The new character are great too! If your a skylanders fan, you will love this starter set.

Way to go sky landers I think this is the best game so far my kid like it a lot and I love that the cars have wheels that move so they can be played with like any other truck or car . It's a very fun game ! They also have mini game to play in the game . I am only giving it a 4 because the first time u play the game it's a bit confusing and u have to have both a car and a figure to play in certain areas but ones you do all that then it's not so confusing anymore and it tones of fun .

Got character pieces on sale when Toys R Us closed out, so I bought the game for my son. When the characters are in the vehicles it is extremely difficult to stear. Skip the game, if you got toys from a store, just let the kids play with them as if they dont do anything. Easier than hearing them cry from frustration.

Awesome new game with the characters, but not so pleased that unlike previous portal upgrades, we cannot use just this portal for all the games. So far we've only tried to use it with Trap Team, so I'm not sure about the rest, but the Trap Team game will not work with this portal-best guess is because the game needs the portal speakers, and I don't think they put those into this portal. I had hoped that since the traps can be used with this portal, that we would have been able to continue using just the newest portal-very disappointed that this isn't the case.
