Capture Evil. Unleash Good. Kaos has blown up the walls of the feared Cloudcracker Prison, freeing the most notorious villains in Skylands. It's up to you and the Skylanders to find and capture them. Who are the Dark Skylanders? While on a special mission, a team of Skylanders discovered a secret lair where Kaos was experimenting with a new discovery - Petrified Darkness - which he intended to use to take over all of Skylands! In the fight to stop Kaos, the lair exploded, releasing a cloud of pure Darkness! The Skylanders knew they could not let it escape, so they absorbed the dark energy, transforming them into dark versions of themselves. Fortunately, Spyro had learned to tame the darkness within him long ago. So with his help, these Skylanders now have also learned to control it - combining its power with their own to fight Kaos and the forces of evil. *DLC (Downloadable Content) may not be included and is not guaranteed to work*

Skylanders has once again invaded our household. As an owner of all four games (and portals), I was happy to see a special edition starter pack offered. My 9YO son received this for his birthday and he really likes it. He was very excited to get the Kaos trap and a couple special edition TrapMasters. He is impatiently awaiting the moment he can use the Koas trap. But he isn't incessantly asking to play the game like he did with the last couple releases. The addition of the "Trap" in this game allows the player to become the villain character after that villain has been defeated and trapped. This is a cool feature since the villains have pretty funny character voices and abilities, and the sound effects of the villain going from the trap in the portal into the game are a pretty neat gimmick. However, you have to have the correct element "Trap" which, of course, means more purchases in the name of Skylands. Overall, character voices have only gotten better, Flynn has only gotten funnier, but the gameplay has all but remained the same. Sure, it's a different storyline, but it's the same treasure chests, keys, bounce pads, etc. I feel that my kids play more to hear the funny voices and tyrades of the characters than to beat the game. I hope Skylanders changes it up for the next version or we'll be thinking twice.

I have been a Skylanders fan for the entire life of this franchise. I've played and finished every game in the series and have collected every character (barring a few really, really rare ones). I've played every character as well. Trap Team is a nice addition to the franchise and many of the new characters are quickly becoming some of my all time favorites. I am enjoying the story and like the addition of traps into the game. I do miss all the extra challenges and ways to play that the previous games had like timed challenges, heroic challenges and even quests for individual characters. I'd like to see those things as part of an already fun game.

This is a fantastic game. I play this with my children and we are almost through it. I do agree with others that the only characters worth a purchase are the trap masters, as they are the only ones who can open up the extended areas. Having said that, I find myself playing with the mini guys I got from Frito Lay years ago :)

My son loves it but the portal wasn't dark! My son with autism has been asking for gray and black sharpies to color over it. Its not like the video or pics he has seen and that been frustrating for him.

Son LOVES LOVES LOVES this game. We are addicted to Skylanders and he went crazy when he got this for his 5th birthday. It is his favorite one (we have Giants and Swap Force) Characters are neat and picture is very clear. Personally, I enjoy swap force more, but it is a great game

Huge hit with my eight year old daughter. She talks about this game non stop and is having so much fun trapping and converting the bad guys. Very pleased...
