Do not buy this if you are thinking about getting the Tablet version. There is no App on the App Store for this! This is a complete rip off and a waste of money. I bought this for my son for Christmas with a few additional figures and traps and after he opened everything, we realized there is no corresponding App on the App Store. Do not waste your money on this, I’m baffled that Amazon would allow this to be sold on their site knowing there is no App that works with this game. Thanks for taking my money and giving me a bunch of useless figurines in return. AGAIN, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS! The single star is only because Amazon does not let you give it ZERO STARS which is what it deserves.

I am so disappointed. My son had this portal on his wish list all last year so that he could play Skylanders on our iPad. It was $100 so it was his only birthday gift from us. Then his grandparents, aunts and uncles bought him the figures to go with it (each $20-$50). In addition all of his Christmas gifts were figures and from November through the first half of 2019 he saved all of his money he earned $0.25 per chore to buy additional figures. Now LESS THAN A YEAR LATER this portal is no longer supported by the game. That means the portal is useless. That means the figures are useless since you can't import them into the game. That means the $500+ we spent on the portal and figures was a waste of money. I feel badly for my son who worked so hard to earn this and feel cheated as I have to believe someone (the seller or amazon) should have been aware that they were selling a product that would not be supported in less than a year and should have warned consumers this was the case. Anyone who purchased this portal should be sent a new portal that the game does support if that even exists.

The Tablet Game (Software) Itself Is No Longer Available From Activision!

Activision have dropped support for their Skylanders mobile games (since end of 2017?), so they are no longer offered/downloadable. Search for "Trap Team App no longer on Play Store" and you will find this on Activision's site. These tablet starter packs are completely useless and should not be sold anymore.

This was a Christmas gift for my 6yr old son. He went nuts when he got it and everything has worked great. First installed on my iPad Retina (3rd Gen) and it ran great. We downloaded the premium version that installs 6GB of data locally. No need for a wi-fi connection afterwards. Then we installed it on an iPad Air 2. Both install experiences worked flawlessly. I was really impressed with the gameplay and how well the portal and wireless controllers worked. You power on the controller and the portal and the app connects them automatically.

This is a very kid friendly game, perfect for younger gamers. We have since invested in a 2nd starter pack to add a second controller to play together. The only real negative is the portal is a bit of a battery hog, requiring 3 AAA batteries. I have used Ni-Mh Eneloops and they last a few hours of gameplay in the portal. The controllers are much more energy efficient and those batteries get recharged every couple of days. So far I am super impressed with the hardware and the software and cannot recommend this tablet version running on iPads, Gen3 or higher. It really plays like a console on a portable screen. Love how the gamepad stores inside the portal.
We have become a Skylanders family and I am very happy with this purchase.

Of course you will end up spending quite a bit more money on more Skylanders characters and traps!

PROS:
- My daughter absolutely loved Skylanders. She was glued to it. For at least 3 years, she played Skylanders for at least an hour every single day. Whenever a new iteration came out, she had to have it. The top of the long shelving unit that ran across the oversized desk in our library was wall-to-wall Skylanders. We always knew what to get her for every gift-giving occasion.

CONS:
- Then one day she stopped playing on a dime because of the violence involved, even though good always wins.
- The major drawback to Skylanders is that this is the gift that keeps on giving - in reverse. You’re not just going to be buying a video game. You’re going to be buying many many figures and other trinkets. We’re easily into this for over a thousand dollars! Not bad for one video game. This was the first game to make this leap. After that, Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions got in on the act. It’s brilliant from a corporate perspective. Not so much from a consumer perspective.

THE KID SAYS: This game was absolutely revolutionary. The idea of being able to take real life toys and put them into video games was a phenomenal one indeed. Making them collectibles was especially good from a marketing standpoint, and giving every character unique backstories was a surefire way to guarantee that people would actually want to collect them all. Enjoyed playing.

BOTTOM LINE: Excellent game good for many many hours of gameplay. Just know what you’re getting into.

Good for someone who does not have XBox or PlayStation or Wii. Very portable, you can play anywhere. Recommend to install full version. The only drawback is that the game will cost you a lot of money later, buying more figures and traps to continue with the game. Occasional crashes on Ipad mini 2. My son loves the game, but it is getting too expensive. I use this as a way to give him reward for good school work. Some of the figures I have to hunt down to get, and the prices are not uniform. For Light and Dark trap, be sure to buy the expansion packs.

Valen los 200 mx que pague, tiene buenos graficos y aunque la calidad de los personajes no es tan buena como la de los amiibos, no dejan de ser bonitos. El control no se puede usar para otras apps y el juego es pesado para gama media de tablets o celulares
