In my opinion this is the best game on PlayStation VR! I was nervous about this at first because I didn't think it was a good idea to be playing a game in VR for as many hours as Skyrim requires. But I don't get sick or headaches while playing this for a extended time, I do make sure I take breaks every 10 minutes tho. This game feels completely different in VR! Fighting a dragon as it circles over you just can't be described! But on the downside this is a old game! The animations do break up and glitches galore! I really wish this wasn't a full price game since it's the same game that's been rereleased almost every year! But I'm happy with the immersion and was complete worth the price!

No reason to play un-modded Skyrim any other way now

This is a wonderful experience for both Skyrim veterans and newcomers. Yes, it's the full price tag, but it's also not "just a port", as VR makes this an entirely different game. You will be in awe at what the environments of Skyrim look like at full-scale. I find it easiest to just list the pros and cons of this version of the game.

PROs:
-Game runs incredibly well (!!), high FPS with no stutter, no crashes, few bugs (for an ES game), PS4 fans don't even get stressed
-Graphics of environment are really nice for VR, especially interior. Lighting, buildings, and mountains (up-close and distant) look great. It's obvious Bethesda had to "pick-and-choose" which textures to keep at hi-res and which ones to downgrade to run VR. They did a good job prioritizing. You're probably wondering "some people say the graphics are crap, and some say they're amazing, which are they"? The answer is: they're good, but expect some downgrade in certain (but not all) "up-close" textures and distant NPCs.
-NPCs up-close (not far away) look incredible as well. They actually look less ugly in VR than in the special edition. They also look much more realistic in VR. There's detail I never noticed before; certain NPCs are like entirely new people. (Example: Irileth)
-The scale is incredible. Exteriors and especially interiors take on a whole new meaning in VR. I never knew Dragonsreach ceiling was so tall. I've noticed so many new details in environments I never saw in my 1,000 hours of Skyrim 2D. Looking down even a flight of stairs is amazing, not to mention peaking over the edge of a cliff. Hope you don't have a fear of heights!
-There are a plethora of comfort options for people who get motion sickness
-Can play with move controls (which mostly work really well, see CON below) or Dualshock 4 (exact same controls as 2D Skyrim)
-Controls overall are great. Magic and archery are fun (using the Dualshock 4, archery is more accurate than it's ever been in Skyrim. You feel like a skilled archer)
-The UI is GREAT. Text is tack sharp, it's easy to read the menus and dialogue, the compass and status bars are intuitive, and the skill trees are impressive and beautiful.
-It's Skyrim. Same full game with Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire. We already know what an incredible game it is.

CONs:
-NPCs are very blurry from a distance (this was probably a sacrifice made to make the game run so well)
-Move controls do not yet incorporate fully smooth turning (but you can smooth-turn with the Dualshock 4 controller, my preferred controller anyway). They're also flawed in some ways (archery isn't as good with moves), but I think these will be ironed out by Bethesda with feedback
-Have not yet found a way to view your character after creating him/her. I'm guessing there either is one (mirror?) or it will be added
-Textures do take a hit. Main examples: far away objects such as White Run look like vanilla again; some textures up-close (such as grass and flowers) also were reduced in resolution.

Overall, HIGHLY recommend this game if you're either a Skyrim fan or a VR fan. If you are, get it.

This game is literally the reason I bought a PSVR. I'll never forget the first time I turned it on and took a look around me... it was so breathtaking and amazing!! I have loved this game since it's release on PS3 and I have spent WAYYY too much of my life playing it so Skyrim feels like a second home to me, but I found that you haven't really played Skyrim until you've played Skyrim VR!

Now, truth be told, the graphics aren't overwhelmingly incredible (closer to PS3 than PS4, but I also don't have a PS4 Pro yet, that could make a difference) and it took me some time to adjust to the headset and screen/visuals, but after I did it was so beautiful and wonderful to turn your head and see Whiterun and Riften and the other towns alive around you. It really gives you the feeling of being in Skyrim. I used the normal PS4 controller and not the move controllers and I still felt immersed.

Bottom line: This game is a must have for all PSVR owners and Skyrim devotees!

Never played Skyrim before my self, always heard the game was good so figured I could give it a try.
Just ignore any reviews that talk about the graphics, sure its not HD quality but its still very fun to play, feels like
you are actually there, also the game is so fun that if it was HD you wouldn't take It off for a whole day.
Plus lets face it guys, you don't play the game or games for the graphics you play it for the story & elements that make it great.

As I was saying before though, I am new to the series but love that there's so much to do, side quests, explore,
most of the time I find myself looking up at the sky or every building in a town because of how interactive it feels.

Cant speak for motion controls as I play with the regular controller but I will say its pretty darn cool to look around with your head.

All I can say this has become one of my top favorite PSVR game. How they managed to fit this game into a full VR experience is impressive. I look forward to future games done the same way.( Imagine the last of US in VR. we can dream)The best VR experiance I have had to date. I spent 6 hours straight playing, I lost track of time. I felt no sickness. But to be fair I normally don't get motion sickness. It felt so real, I would recommend this game to everyone who loves this game and to those whom have never played. This is Skyrim as you have never experienced it before. I noticed things that I could not see before

Serious Motion Sickness

Got this game for my husband, as I cannot play most of the VR games (or regular ps4 games for that matter) due to motion sickness. (But if you are like me and are limited in games you can play because of this, I recommend Super Hot and Beat Saber as fun VR games that do not make me motion sick at all.)

My husband, who loves Skyrim in the regular sense of playing games, cannot play this one. The controls when you play with the motion wands are ridiculous. There is no sense of fluidity when controlling the character that way. I became ill just watching him try to play!

Also, my husband, who can play any game under the sun and never get sick, became extremely motion sick after about 15 minutes of playing this. Likely due to the choppy controls and camera angles. He had mild nausea and a migraine for the rest of the day after trying this out, unfortunately.

Disappointed and will be trading this game in.

Absolutely love this game. Obviously its not realistic as far as not knowing when it's RL or not, but its crazy how immersed you get when playing. Its as if you are really there, full 360 views. As with all skyrim, you get to make your character, fully. Its a game you can spend hours in!

Damaged spine and cd loose in case

Came damaged. This is what I worry about when ordering online. The disc wasn't in its place and was freely floating around. It was supposed to be new and as seen in the pictures the spine of the case was damaged. The cd worked fine and wasn't scratched so I'm just going to keep it. Not happy about it though.
