These two very different people intersect after Sky’s rental car breaks down and she becomes lost in a snowstorm. Daylight is fading and she is scared, cold and desperate. Here comes the cavalry. Logan is driving home an almost runs her down. Poor Sky literally faints in his arms. After waking up she learns that she’s in a town with no name full of fanatical dooms day preppers. Right now you’re saying what?! I assure Elle makes it all work in the best kind of way. Sky develops the flu and these two are forced to make the best of an awkward situation. Elle knows how to serve up the sexy so the attraction is piping hot but these two just can’t get it together. The interruptions are hilarious! Sky’s rescue dog, Arnie, is a Rottweiler but thinks he’s a lap dog Chihuahua and doesn’t take kindly to anyone touching his mistress. So many laugh out loud moments in this book!
The secondary characters have a wacky Gilmore Girls vibe that make the possibilities for future books in the series endless. Though I think I learned way more about lip balm that I probably needed to know. LOL. Sky’s the Limit being
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. I can tell you that I had to stop, repeatedly, to catch my husband up on what I was reading. It was too good not to share!
I have so many favorite parts I can’t even name them all, but the pandemic squad, the bug out bags and surprise drills, Patient Zero and Arnie are at the top.
I was sure that Sky wasn’t that bright in the first few pages. But, I was also laughing my butt off by page three so that shows how rash judgments are often wrong. Sky is one of those people who everyone just likes. I thought she was incredibly high maintenance, but had to learn, just like Logan did, that the polished façade was just that… a mask that she used to help her get through life. What she showed Logan was someone who was funny, someone who went out of her way to make others feel good about themselves and who was a creative genius to boot. And her dog Arnie just sealed it for me. Sky is the best female character I have read in ages.
At first, Logan’s personality was hard to read. He came across as kind of closed off, not arrogant but he definitely has a lot of stuff to do and he doesn’t have time to spend as nursemaid. He’s not cold but he’s definitely not all warm hugs, though he does take really good care of her. Once Sky begins to work her magic on him you begin to see that he’s just as much fun as Sky, he just needed someone semi-sane to share his thoughts with. But, rash judgments aren’t a friend of his either. His willingness to jump to the worst conclusion ever of course throws a wrench into their relationship but I loved the way he went about apologizing and the way the town stepped in find out how he’d messed up and to “help” him win her back had me laughing out loud again.
I’m counting on Elle to put out some more Doomsday Prepper books because I don’t even need to know what they’re about, I’m buying every single one. If you haven’t read Elle Aycart yet, you need to get on it and this one is a great place to start.
Sky and Logan were terrific characters, engaging from the start. Though they're both strong and confident, their vulnerabilities are never far from the service. That made them even more likeable.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series! Seriously, these characters and the whole prepper town were great. Kudos for originality and what had to be hours of research. From bug-out drills to beauty hacks, it was all unbelievably believable! 4.5 stars!
The romance between Sky and Logan was funny but still very hot. There's an interesting twist with Sky that brought some interesting depth to Sky that I hadn't anticipated. I wish they might have even delved into more however, it might have changed the tone of the book.
The whole thing was fun and sexy from start to finish and I'll be going back to No Name whenever Elle's invites me.
When I finished , I ask myself “was it worth it to only stop reading long enough to use the restroom and grab food to shove down my throat?” ...... YES! Yes it totally was!!!!!

Plenty of laugh out loud moments, mixed in with seriousness, shenanigans and falling in love.
Whilst this book apparently is the start of a new series, I can totally get behind the crazy Preppers style theme in this book. I enjoyed her previous series too (The Bowen series) so do yourself a favour and dive in. You'll laugh, I promise!
5 sunny stars x
I was worried that Ms Aycart couldn't top the Bowen Brothers. But boy did she ever!!!
