The best review ever - Some top notch performance would have been best if not for the horrible SSD

I got this unit for myself as a daily driver. I do some graphics and some gaming so video performance was important. I have been in IT for years and used to build my own using the best graphics cards, best motherboards etc but am too old an busy for such things these days and wanted to see what a "custom" unit off the shelf on Amazon looked like. After doing benchmark testing, some really interesting things became apparent.The unit is beautiful, crafted well and unlike my first computer from Skytech (which was configured wrong) everything appears to have been installed correctly. FIt and finish are great and I love the fans and LED lights that give it nice curb appeal. I used Passmark software to benchmark this build. I highly recommend it to anyone. Passmark gives this build a 75% rating. From my experience this essentially means that it beats 75% of the people who have put their computers to the test recently. Since most of the users are geeks like me, that usually means that a higher bar is expected. Thus, the 75% rating is that this machine beats 75% of people who are spending money on a GOOD system.OVERALL: 75%CPU: 83%2D Graphics: 73%Gaming: 88%Memory: 58%What I found interesting is that this machine build is a monster when it comes to gaming and general computing power but is prevented from being a real killer because of some parts that they really failed on . The worst part of this machine is the SSD hard drive which received a 3% score in performance. The PNY CS900 is one of the WORST performing hard drives you could possibly pick. With out a doubt this 3% score affected the total performance of the build . In my experience, hard drive performance more than ANYTHING makes for a computer's performance and feel. The memory performance was also middle of the road. They could have spent the same amount of money and gotten better memory and for the love of god a DECENT hard drive. Literally the worst performing hard drive that costs the same or more than some stellar performers. I don't get it. This system could rock out with a marginal HD. Too bad it is not easy to replace (Like memory).

WAY better than expected!

Let me just start off by saying that I don't know much about PCs, and I was worried about taking the leap to purchase one, even after doing a couple weeks of research AND asking my hardcore PC gamer friends for advice. However, I am super impressed and so thankful that I chose this one! It is sooo worth the money! I started getting into PC gaming not too long ago, mainly playing Minecraft, and much more recently, Valorant. Both games ran like garbage on my old laptop, so I decided to upgrade - and let me tell you that this PC has not missed a BEAT! The only issues I've ever had with Valorant on this PC were due to internal issues with the game itself, not the PC. No lag AT ALL - same goes for Minecraft and a few smaller games I've played. Everything runs absolutely great! I will say I was a little worried when I opened the box up (I was hoping it hadn't gotten damaged during shipping), but it was actually packaged really nicely and came with a nice quick start guide, which was really useful for me, considering I've never set up a gaming PC before. Everything was hooked up properly internally, so it was plug and play after getting everything arranged the way I wanted on my desk, and I instantly loved the RGB lights! They're awesome! You can change the colors just by pressing a button on the top of the PC. I leave mine on the solid rainbow setting most of the time, but there are so many colors you can rotate through! The other nice thing is that it has a lot of open space inside, so I could definitely upgrade it as needed, and there's 5 cooling fans! It never gets hot (even after HOURS of playing Valorant) and is pretty quiet. The mouse and keyboard included are okay - I'm sure most pro gamers will want to upgrade, but for now, they work good for me. Coupled with my new 24" Sceptre Edgeless Curved monitor, it's a perfect match for me. If I ever need to purchase another PC in the future, I'd definitely buy one again from Skytech!
