Glasses for the discerningly practical individual. I ordered these glasses, and after their prompt arrival, I tried them out. Everyone at my office was taken with them, and they work great. It looks funny, but I can wear them over my aviator style glasses just fine. I am using them to type this review right now, as I recline in my yard enjoying the lovely evening and an ice-cold IPA. When not mentally congratulating myself on this most excellent purchase, I have been spending my evening pondering how nice the lovely breeze feels on my neck which is not bent towards my laptop screen like a chump, but instead no longer hurts or feels uncomfortable in the least. It takes a moment to get used to any prism glasses, and I have owned multiple pairs over the years. Some people have complained about how they are heavy, but, as somewhat of a prism glasses aficionado, I can tell you that you definitely aren't going to find functional prism glasses that aren't somewhat heavy for less than an arm and a leg. By their nature, they contain prisms, which are made of glass or some other substance with similar refractive qualities that will simultaneously be resistant to warping at room temperatures and to scratching. This rules out lightweight materials. The bigger the viewing area, the bigger the prisms. Even with my thick eyeglasses and my prism glasses on, the weight upon my face is not onerous, especially since I am reclined, which is often the purpose of these things. I highly recommend these, and am purchasing several more pairs for friends shortly after writing this deservedly glowing review.

As I was to be laid up after surgery, I purchased a pair of these “prism glasses”, which are designed to let you see at a 90 degree angle.

The pros: They work— lying flat on your back and staring straight up, your view is of the foot of the bed. In addition, they are designed so that they may be worn over eyeglasses or reading glasses.

Cons: They’re not in any way adjustable. I would love a pair that would allow me to adjust their angle. It would make them far more convenient for reading, and would also ensure that TV watching was possible even if your TV wasn’t exactly st the foot of your bed.

Still, at this price, I wouldn’t expect them to be adjustable. I’m just happy they work as well as they do, given what optics can cost.

I love the concept, it really takes the strain off my neck when reading in bed, but here are two issues I had using it:

#1: the lens are not properly aligned, it will take a few minutes for your brain to naturally compensate so you can focus and read properly without double vision. It'll also take a minute to adjust every time you remove the glasses, you'll feel slightly crosseyed. Maybe a precise alignment can only be done with an optometrist and it's not the manufacturer's fault, either way, it's something worth knowing before you buy these glasses.

#2: if you're reading something glowing, like the screen of a Kindle, or watching TV in the dark, you'll get more light in your field of view (FOV), because you'll be able to see the TV on the lower edge of your eye (where the TV actually is), through the prism lens in front of you, and also a bit more on a prism reflection on the upper edge of your FOV. It can be a bit distracting.

They are sturdy and high quality glass but the glass is too narrow. when you are looking at say a book on your chest you cant see the whole book's width on your chest so you have to move the book side to side to read each page which is annoying.

Also if you wear glasses for reading they are tough to use.

probably ok for just watching TV at the foot of your bed (if you don't need glasses) but I really hoped they would be more useful for reading a book on my chest without having to prop up my head and bend my neck on a big pillow.

When my wife had trouble sitting for extended periods, I mounted a flat screen TV on the bedroom wall. When she is resting her back by lying flat on the bed, she sometimes uses these. We have no complaints except that they become heavy on the bridge of the nose after 1/2 hr to 1 hour. They also seem to make the TV picture a little smaller (that may be simply perception), however I wear them with glasses and have no problem doing so. The picture is crystal clear. I've not had the problem some report of double vision. In general, I'm very happy with the quality and the functionality of these glasses. I would gladly have given them 5 stars if they were a little lighter. Having said that, I think the fact that the optics are real glass is the reason the view is so clear when you look through them.

I think this is such a cool idea and although the product I received has a couple of flaws, I still love them and ignore the imperfections.

-The glasses are a bit heavy which is understandable but you have to get used to it.
-There is a double reflection at times but the second image is much more faint and easy to ignore.
-There is a small semi circle spot at the very bottom of my line of vision (could be my nose though).

I have only had these about a week and have gotten over the initial urge to return because they weren't "perfect" and I LOVE them otherwise. My neck doesn't hurt when reading and it helps me be and stay comfortable when I'm watching something to go to sleep! So glad I got these :)

I had the same issue as the one reviewer. When the glasses arrived they were a little bent, but I just heated them with a lighter and allowed them to cool, and now they're great. They have stayed that way for a while now, so I believe the one reviewer needs to use heat and he shouldn't have to keep adjusting his/hers. I wear glasses as well and have quite a large head and they work great. You just have to let your prescription glasses ride low and put the prism glasses higher on your face. My only issue, and the reason I don't give a five star, is that the bows are a little rigid, and I have a wide face so they are tight, and after a while of wearing them, the pressure causes some discomfort.
