This may be the greatest book ever written in the history of mankind. At last, all the questions you had been dying to know about the Tingleverse are answered--but even greater mysteries are revealed in the process. The philosophy that Tingle lays out in this masterpiece is reminiscent of Thus Spoke Zarathustra, with a little bit of In the Dust of this Planet and the Conspiracy against the Human Race; it's definitely radically altered my view on life. The plot is multifaceted and complex, and goes in unexpected but incredible directions--Tuck Bingle is easily comparable to the Count of Monte Cristo except with much better abs. And of course, the eroticism is simply stunning--equal parts beautiful and sublime; I wept with joy at several parts. Chuck has really outdone himself this time, and though he's definitely going to face some stiff competition at the Hugos this year from the incomparable Noah Ward, I really think he has a shot at getting himself that sexy, phallic scifi award in real life. 5/5

I'm kind of the target audience for this title, in that I'm knowledgeable about the Hugos, informed about the "puppy" controversy, and interested enough in gay erotica. Probably the only thing I'm missing is being a fan of this author, who I'd never heard of before his Hugo nomination. That having been said, the writing is okay, the ideas amusing, the erotic aspects explicit but still sort of tame, so overall this was only "okay" but was an excellent response to being dragged into the controversy.

With the controversy over the Hugo awards over the past two years, I'd begun to wonder if I could still trust the once prestigious institution. Does "Hugo nominated" really carry any weight in a world where all that means is it's being pushed on you by a clique for a political agenda or by a group of trolls for the lulz?

After reading Slammed In The Butt By My Hugo Award Nomination, I have put all those concerns aside. This is a masterpiece, through and through. If the Hugo awards continue to bring this sort of literary genius to my attention, it's an institution well worth preserving. But don't take my word for it. Read it yourself.
