The descriptions says "For each nonwhite or slave resident in New York State in 1790, some or all of the following information is given: surname, given name, and household census counts for the number of white males aged 16 years and older, white males less than 16, white females, nonwhite free persons, and slaves." There are no surnames or given names for any slaves in this book. There are names of slave owners and number of slaves they owned. There are no names for nonwhite free persons unless they are heads of households.
