About the authors

Anne Rice was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, which provided the backdrop for many of her famous novels. She was the author of more than 30 books, including her first novel, Interview with the Vampire, which was published in 1976. It has since gone on to become one of the best-selling novels of all time, and was adapted into a major motion picture starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, and Antonio Banderas. In addition to The Vampire Chronicles, Anne was the author of several other best-selling supernatural series including Mayfair Witches, Queen of the Damned, the Wolf Gift, and Ramses the Damned. Under the pen name A.N. Roquelaure, Anne was the author of the erotic (BDSM) fantasy series, The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy. Under the pen name Anne Rampling she was the author of two erotic novels, Exit to Eden and Belinda. A groundbreaking artist whose work was widely beloved in popular culture, Anne had this to say of her work: "I have always written about outsiders, about outcasts, about those whom others tend to shun or persecute. And it does seem that I write a lot about their interaction with others like them and their struggle to find some community of their own. The supernatural novel is my favorite way of talking about my reality. I see vampires and witches and ghosts as metaphors for the outsider in each of us, the predator in each of us...the lonely one who must grapple day in and day out with cosmic uncertainty."

A.N. Roquelaure is the pseudonym for bestselling author Anne Rice, the author of 25 books. She lives in New Orleans.

Sleeping beauty was never so erotic before
the only sex scene I respected was the one between Beauty and Inanna. it was sensual, erotic and most importantly, it was mutual. it wasn't forced upon and they truly enjoyed each other.
the one chapter that I really enjoyed reading was VOLUPTUOUS CAPTIVITY in the second book. I guess I enjoyed reading it because the author had filled the background with such decorative aspects such as silk, flowers, gold trimmings, jewels and everything that a sultan's palace would have. it kind of softened the twist in my stomach that I had while I was reading the other beating scenes in other chapters. I really thought that the palace was going to do something nice to Tristan and Beauty in the chapter. they had adorned them with makeup and jewels. but surely enough, they were just getting them ready for yet, another beating.
I have to admit, I had mixed feelings when they were getting beaten. I felt very sad but at the same time, I felt happy that they were together right at that very moment. neither of them was alone while it was happening. they bonded and they looked beautiful, both bodies and faces.
the very last chapter in the third book was a complete surprise to me. I was relieved to know that there was indeed light at the end of the tunnel for Beauty. out of all of the boys in the trilogy, it was Laurent who ended up with her. the ending had finally untied the twisted knot in my stomach that I had while reading the trilogy.
lastly, if you can get aroused by reading of a cat licking in Beauty's private part, then this series is definitely for your taste.
In the introduction, Anne Rice states that she wanted to write something beyond the standard romance novel, where essentially the entire book is one long sex scene. She did well with that aspect of the books, but Rice tends to use the same few fetishes over and over again. If you enjoy spanking in particular but also homoerotic pony play, this is definitely the series for you. For me personally, I just felt there were so many more aspects of BDSM play she could have explored.
Not to out myself as a nerd, but I've read fanfiction that had more varied sex scenes!
As for character development, there really isn't. Beauty comes off as very shallow, falling in love with each new man (or woman) she meets throughout the course of the trilogy, while emotionally discarding previous lovers. For example, the Prince who awakens her from her sleep is completely written out of the story after the first book. In other words, Rice doesn't develop any of the secondary characters but instead trades them out as needed. So don't look for any romance in these books - it's really all about the kinky sex.
While these books were no doubt groundbreaking when they were written in the 1980's, the internet has really changed ones ability to access and distribute erotica. There really isn't anything special about this trilogy that you couldn't find freely available on websites such as Literotica. But if you enjoy Rice's prose and really like reading about spankings, you will probably enjoy these books.
A word of warning: Despite how it is advertised, excepting BDSM themes, The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy is nothing like 50 Shades of Grey. Beauty is a minor - 15 years old - over the course of the trilogy and much of the sex described in the books involve dubious consent. Also, although Beauty is the title character, there is a great deal of male homosexuality in the books. In fact, nearly half of the second and third book are told from the perspective of male characters as they have sex with other males.
If any of that squicks you out, avoid reading these books.
Showed up on time and in good condition.😅👍
