Absolute low quality garbage

First, I'm an ex-bike mechanic, I know what I'm doing.

I got tired of flats from crap tubes just giving out on two particular bikes, so I bought 2 of these 'heavy duty slime tubes' to reduce the number of times I have to disassemble the rear tire on two bikes.

The first one I installed lasted a month or two, of gentle riding on concrete paths about 2x/week. The air was out this morning...turns out the valve split at the valve/tube interface. Garbage. The rim hole is smooth and clean.

The second one I unwrapped to replace the rear tube on a 2nd similar bike, I disassembled the bike, took the old tube out (went flat - garbage stem again), cleaned it all, checked it for burrs, etc...all good. Went to put in the new slime tube. It's too small. The 2nd tube they shipped has EXACTLY the same markings as the first one, in exactly the same box, all marked 26". It is actually a 24" tube. Useless, as I have no bikes with 24" wheels. Garbage.

I'm going to ride my other bike over to Target and buy two off-the-shelf tubes. At least those tubes know they're cheap garbage.
What a waste of good money these expensive slime tubes were.

I contacted Bell’s Bike Shop & received an immediate, friendly response (not automated) explaining to me that she would have to refer my message for help. Within a short time I received a message from the owner stating they would replace the tube since it appeared to be defective. In a few days I received a pair of tubes, not just one. I was very pleased & very impressed with their trust in me, the communications, the friendliness, & the professionalism of the shop. I definitely recommend Bell’s Bike Shop!

This is a late review ... ordered last year at start of pandemic and received many many weeks after guaranteed delivery date. When they eventually did arrive, the packaging was in open, wet, and dirty. Unpleasant first impressions aside, I’ve since installed both tubes with no problem. I ride a lot of urban bike paths so broken glass and landscaping debris are common. Although I can steer clear of the obvious pricks, it’s the micro shards and tiny thorns that embed deeply in a tire that make these inner tubes a necessity for any ride that takes you beyond a direct bus ride home. In the absence of any air loss since putting them on, I’d say they’ve done their job well so far.

You get what you pay for and I wanted a heavy duty inner tube that would not go flat for my Hybrid Tandem bike. So far after two years and lots of riding, they are still going strong. I’ve used these slime tubes for years now. I’ve had flats numerous times on my mountain bike (my wife’s also) miles away from home. As long as the tire is not torn, I’ve always been able to pump the tire up to 35 psi, or so, and make it back home. From my experiences, the slime patch doesn’t hold well at psi’s above 35ish. I would recommend them.

The day we received the slime tubes we put them on that night so we could ride in the morning. In the morning one of the tubes was already flat we inspected the tube and saw that it had 2 holes but they where only at the top of the tube so the slime couldn’t even cover them but it sucks that we didn’t even get to use it and it came messed up and you can’t return it if u unbox it so I am very upset

Find the got around to installing these and one of the tubes the valve stem was bad and unfortunately can't return it now just make sure you open them and use them immediately . So now unfortunately I have to spend the money and buy another tube.

Ok I have to admit to being skeptical about these inner tubes. I needed to replace the inner tubes on 2 bikes and I wanted a couple of spares for those just encase moments and as I said I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised they fit just like the old inner tubes so no difference there. A couple of pointers for those of you that are thinking about buying these. Firstly, make sure your valves are fitted first and put the cap on so that there are no little accidents. Secondly you cannot let the air out of the tires as this causes the slime to come out and the valves tend to block up making it impossible to either refill them with air or take any air out. My daughter found this out the hard way when she fitted the inner tube then pumped it up but hadn't fitted the tyre properly and it popped off the rim. This is how I know whats listed above experience is a wonderful way to learn but I wish it wasn't so expensive.

Other than that this is an amazing product and I have no hesitation in recommending it, especially if like me you have kids that tend to find every thorn or pointy thing to run over with their bikes. Having said that rather than let the tube go to waste I decided to do a little test and take pictures so you can see what happens. In the first picture although it's a little blurry you can see the pin I used to puncture the tube with and in the second you can see the smart slime has sealed the hole. Unfortunately what you can't see is that the type lost very little air after being punctured. Hopefully this will stop the bikes being off road due to punctures but only time will tell.

Iv only had a pair on one day on my rear hubmotor ebike paired with a new set of maxxis mtb tyres with reinforced walls and silk tyre lining, the bike has never felt solike solid but I hit abit of a nasty pithole and the rear tubes blown, but gutted im.carrying the rear of my bike up a mile walk home.in the rain on day one I had tested them abit first and as I said it felt amazing would really appreciate a replacement if possible if not ill habe wait till end of the week when im paid,
So if you got an ebike with a heavy hub motor be careful for sharp potholes to avoid a sketchy blowout.

I cannot recommend these enough. Pulled a massive thorn out of the side of my tyre three days ago and the slime did its thing and sealed itself instantly without any work from me. You could see if bubble up and seal the massive hole and I was very impressed with the speed! The tyre is still fine several days later (i haven't even had to pump it up) and that slime has been in there for over 4 years! Don't bother looking elsewhere - this is what you need.
