This book hit me in such a way that a book hasn’t hit me lately. I felt for the female lead character and could really relate to the situations and feelings she had.
I’m really anxious to read more in the series and to see what she had in store for the others!
I enjoyed the trademark Moncado plot twists, and some new twists on “old” tropes that she uses. There are plot threads left hanging, so you know they’ll be resolved in future books.
So this is another enjoyable read by Moncado. Her characters are always believable, and they get involved in interesting relationships. They learn and grow together and become stronger people, giving the reader good examples. I also appreciate how Moncado works in things like dealing with disabilities, dysfunctional families, and other challenges of life.
In the midst of some awkward happenings in her life, sweet, often neglected, Mia finds herself pursued by the guy she believes to be the most unlikely to pursue her. He believes in her, now she’s just got to start believing in herself! I love how the characters are “real,” tough situations are addressed, yet the author’s trademark humor is sprinkled throughout the book. Not too heavy, not too light, for me this book was just right!!!
