This is a tried and true remedy from my childhood for canker and cold sores. I bought a bottle recently to deal with cold sores I had gotten from low thyroid (a by-product of cancer radiation therapy I had 10 years ago). None of the OTC products I had purchased were working, but T of M did the trick. It should be used sparingly - I moisten the end of a cotton swab - because a little dab'll do ya. It stings, but it works. Few pharmacies or health product stores carry tincture of myrrh any more, so Smallflower is to be commended for staying the course. Their price and service were excellent.
A friend told me about how Tincture of Myrrh can be mixed with water and gargled with to help heal canker sores or any dental work such as; wisdom tooth, crowns and root canals. I was glad to find that it really does work and helps soothe all the pain from the above work done to ones mouth...I've also heard it is good for wounds. But I must find out more about how you mix it up with what to do that. This bottle comes as the picure shows and seems well packaged and very clean. The postage is not included in the amazon postage and was a little steep, but it wasn't broken when it arrived and I'm very pleased.
Impossible to find but absolutely essential for any kind of mouth pain... cold sore, gum boil, bitten tongue. denture rub. Also relieves a mouth burn such as from hot soup. It doesn't taste very good, but it does really help.
Must NOT be swallowed. It would be nice if this tincture came with a list of possible uses. A physician in my family encouraged my father to use it for cold sores many years ago. I came to use it if needed. Dip a cotton swab and touch the cold sore. Stings for just a moment, and with two or three applications brings relief. Does not require more than touching sore with dipped swab, maybe twice a day, until relieved. ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR MEDICAL PROVIDER BEFORE using this or other over counter medication to ensure it is appropriate for your personal needs.
Old fashioned remedy for canker sores, and it works! Tastes awful, really stings, but effective. And, as far as I know, is only available through Amazon. Our druggist told me that he hadn't ordered this medicine in at least ten (10) years.
