I attempted to give you a size perspective with it being on the porch (that's also my toy poodle, who also loves it). We're next to a major street, but you can still enjoy the sounds of this fountain! I highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to buy another! It would also make a unique housewarming gift!
First off, I love that it is solar operated. No wiring to run, simple and easy. Yes, it will only run when it has sunlight, as it says in the description. Even if you lean over and block the panel, it will stop pumping. Be sure you have a nice open area to place it.
The bowl and fish is a beautiful ceramic blue. It holds perhaps a gallon of water (I used my daughters sand bucket to fill it and it took 1 1/2). The assembly was fairly straight forward, although attaching the spout to the pump too a bit of creative license. I didn't see anyway to insert the tube into the hole while it was attached to the pump, so I simply positioned it and slid the tube down afterwards. Same thing with the fish, which is also ceramic. The directions indicate that you just slide it on, over a little foam stopper called a "bung", however, the fish is made like a teapot lid, you must have it positioned sideways to have these little side bumps line up up with the hole in the base, so that took a little careful finagling, but it is certainly not difficult nor time consuming. I would say I was set up within ten minutes. The item is very attractive and works as indicated. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend. Read the size and imagine it in your layout, and you will not be disappointed.
***This note added after one month - During hot weather evaporation of the water cuts the run time down even further. When the water falls below a certain level (about 2/3 full) the pump doesn't have enough water to draw on to run. All in all the pump only runs about 2 or 3 hours a day. Disappointing.

I am not happy with the function of the solar pump. I have to constantly move the solar plate to direct sunlight and even then it is not much of a water flow. Read morePublished 8 days ago by Catzie
Seriously. So not buy this piece of crap. I've bought and returned two. One never worked all. The second lasted a month. Piece of crap. Seriously don't buy this.Published 11 days ago by w
Even though it only runs when the sun shines on the panel, it is beautiful even without the pump on. Larger than expected. Read morePublished 12 days ago by linnie
To be totally upfront, I feel I have to disclose I've only had it running for a few days. That said, I really like this little fountain. Read morePublished 14 days ago by A. Roberts
My fountain just arrived about an hour ago. It is already set up and running in my yard. It is a beautiful blue and it arrived well packaged without any blemish. Read morePublished 26 days ago by Janet Marie
It's pretty, it makes a nice sound with the water falling, but the solar pump lasted less than three weeks. It is very sensitive with clouds passing over the solar panel as well. Read morePublished 27 days ago by occasional reviewer
