Sizing seems to run large though. I usually wear size 6.5-7 women's shoe and I bought the small socks (for size 4-6.5), and they are still a bit too big. Will need to be careful how I put them on so they don't bunch and become uncomfortable when in the hiking boots. I've attached some photos so you can see how baggy they are.
Haven't tried them outside yet but I think they will work well. If not I will update this review!
People, I've worn Smartwool socks for 2 weeks...and the most incredible thing has happened. I can now feel my feet. I was standing barefoot yesterday, and I realized I could feel the temperature of the floor with my feet. I could tell my feet were maintaining their own warmth a little too. And that was amazing and new to me. Whatever neglect had made my feet not "work" was fixable even after all this time. And the type of socks I wore was the only change I made.
Your feet have to last a lifetime. Buy decent socks. And if you are fabric sensitive and a lot of clothes you have to pass over because you feel them constantly (you know what I'm talking about) or they itch you to death...try the Smartwool socks.
I have two pair that are still good after almost 20 years and lots of hiking mileage. Just wish I had purchased these in "small."
Who would have thought that wool socks would not be scratchy or make your feet sweat? Well, someone obviously, but not me! Purchased these as a "test" for a recent camping trip with low overnight temperatures to see if they kept my cold feet warm enough to justify the price when we move to a colder clime this year.
They did, and I will likely buy a few of the heavier versions for my new foray into living where it snows.
