This book shows the futility and counter-productiveness of this push for early excellence. It emphasizes play and time with parents as the best indicators of future potential.
Parents, even when they are not teachers, offer something even top preschools never can: a total commitment to and love for the child.
Lots of tips for parents, and things to talk about even before the children come along.
This book covers many topics, almost all backed by research. The authors discuss those activities that help my children learn, and those that don't. After making some adjustments suggested in the book, we're already seeing some positive results. This book is a great practical guide for maximizing a child's potential. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in their children's future.
