Would not recommend this as a slow-feeding toy.
DO recommend this as a treat toy. (put treat kibble in it)
Then, when you fill it part way full, several pieces come out with one good swat.
Not much exercise.
The round balls with adjustable holes are much better to make the kitties work. :-)
Suppose it might work for less energetic cats.
It performs exactly as expected; rights itself, step-up in challenge from round treat balls, and the hole is the right size to use semi-large kibble as treats, making it dispense one kibble at a time. Works beautifully. The weight in the bottom moves independent of the plastic shell, giving it a better movement, a bit of noise, and preventing, mostly, it getting stuck on it's side for whatever reason.
Now if only I could convince my cats to like new things, we'd be golden. A couple of my cats go -wild- for treat toys, though, so it's just a matter of time.
