Stock picture is misleading as in shows the double wide pad. This one is 18" x 5" x 1" so it fits perfectly into the SmartyKat holder.
When putting the new refill into the holder the cats went right away and started to scratch on it. That was even without putting the cat nip on it. Certainly a must have item around the house as cats love to scratch furniture. They don't really do that much anymore.
If these would ever go on sale I would probably buy a couple of them at once, as they do wear down after a few weeks.
Box does include a generous sack of catnip, not that the cat really needs any encouragement to jump on this thing. I've never felt compelled to use much more than half of one of these bags by the end of the box's life.
Cats really enjoy them (I've had better luck getting them to scratch on these than anything else.
They don't last very long, Some of them only seem to last a couple weeks.
One of my cats has a tendency to lick them which ruins them very quickly and might not be very good for them.
They make a mess. There are always little bits of cardboard everywhere.
