Perfect Protection for my Mavic Pro

Let me start this off by saying that I bought the Mavic Pro Fly More combo. The case that comes with it, is not practical at all for a day or even some short time to travel and plan on using the drone. It's too cramped and you can't fit all the accessories in there. The case that came with the combo looks nice, but as far as function, it's not good. Thus began my search for a new travel home for my Mavic.

This case works great for me and I have been able to store all my extra items for the drone (Phone | lens filters | 3 batteries plus a few more items) securely in this case. It is very light and protects my drone very well as I move from place to place. The foam cutouts fit the Mavic and the accessories perfectly. I also was happy that I could leave my propellers attached.

This is a nice sturdy case with and provides good protection for the Mavic Pro. It holds the remote perfectly also, without placing any stress on the thumbsticks or button. It's perfect to take on an airplane as a personal item, it's built like a small briefcase.

PROS
- Sturdy, hard side case
- Foam cutouts fit perfect
- Shoulder strap

CONS
- This case didn't come with the drone, not really a con but more of a wish.

Overall, I am very happy with this case. It definitely cuts down on the "startup" time, when I decide I want to fly. I'll be looking to this brand again, when I decide to purchase another drone.

Almost perfect, but not quite.

I bought my Mavic Pro just over a month ago and when I saw what I piece of crap the backpack bundled with it was, I immediately jumped on Amazon and took a look at the cases available. This one had a great rating and a healthy number of reviews so I bought it. The foam insert is top notch and all the "basics" fit in their precut spots. The outside seems durable enough and I am definitely not worried about protecting my investment should the case take a moderate fall. My only grip is that they could have made the lid / top of the case a little deeper. I'm talking 1/2" to 3/4". Ok, I wouldn't complain if it were even up to 1" deeper. As it is, there really ins't that much storage in the lid without stuff (specifically the quad charging port) bumping or resting on the the spare batteries.

This is perfect for airline travel. It's small enough to sit on your lap or under the seat. No need to even put it in the overhead. Holds 4 batteries and my iPad mini and PolarPro filters fit in the zippered netting compartment in the lid. If you're considering a backpack ... buy this. It slides right in any backpack and offers semi hard shell protection.

My Mavic Pro is enjoying its new home in this Smatree case. To be honest I was hesitant buying a brand I have never heard of to store my $1000+ drone.. But dont let this fool you, Smatree definitely makes a high quality product for DJI equipment. I also just ordered their case for my DJI OSMO Mobile.

The Mavic Pro case does not really feel like it would protect the drone from a drop onto a hard surface. However it does fit snug inside and there is no room for movement. The foam is nicely cut into an exact fit to ensure everything stays in place during transport. Its more of a convenient place to store the drone without it getting banged up like it would in a backpack or a bag. The price is right and the case feels like it will last the life of the drone.

If you have a Mavic Pro this is the best deal on a travel size case that is lightweight and portable. Thumbs up to Smatree for a great product.

I was wrapping my Mavic Pro and the controller in a sweater and carrying it in a back pack, constantly worried that the gimbal cover would come off and the gimbal would get damaged. I'm so happy to have this case for the peace of mind. The hard shell feels very sturdy, the padding inside is cut perfectly for each component, and the overall size is fairly small, considering what you are carrying around. Also, thank you guys for not putting a huge obnoxious picture of a drone on the case! I'm not into advertising what I'm carrying around and I think I speak for a lot of other drone pilots.

Great Mavic Carrying Case

Overview

Overall this is a great case. I got this case to carry the Mavic Pro Platinum as I travel. The case is a nice mixture of battery storage, the drone itself and has just enough cut outs for the remote and a few accessories. I managed to fix an Ipad Mini4 in the top of the case, along with a collapsible tablet holder and cables.

The One Thing Missing

The absolutely only thing I wish this case had was a media holder. There's a big empty space in the rubber beside the remote where they could have cut slits to let you insert micro SD card holders. Two or 3 slits would have been perfect right there. But it's a very minor detail, plus there's no guarantee that the holders would have stayed put while carrying the case.

This is a great case - I recently took it on a trip to Hawaii and it easily contained everything I needed for my Mavic.

One small note: the fit is nice and snug which is great when traveling, but the new Low-Noise props for the Mavic are a bit wider than the old ones and make the fit a bit too-snug. With the new props you end up forcing things a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Alternatives are to take off two of the props when you store the Mavic, or stick with the original style props. I'm not sure which way I'll go yet.

Nice Quality, But....

I bought this based on answers to a question I had asked - "Is there a place to carry propeller protectors?" I was assured there was in the zippered pouch in the lid.

Not even close. The protectors are too thick to fit.

Otherwise, I do like to case and will keep it. The spot for the battery charger doesn't accommodate the attachment cables, and doesn't nicely accommodate the power cord itself, but will fit with some careful winding. The other cables will fit in one of the battery compartments if you are not using all of them.
