This product is just like I remember but has one flaw: the magnetic material inside the plastic is very coarse grained and doesn't work as well as it should. The one that I had when I was a kid had material that was finely ground and easier to pull around. This one has some sand-sized particles in it that are really too big for the intended purpose. But it only costs a few bucks and the kids still like it. I was just disappointed with the quality.

Not as good as I remember being from when I was a kid. Admittedly that was 50 years ago and my quality standards were less (and my memory better). Bought it as a lark for my grandkids. It lasted about 5 minutes. Fortunately they had lost interest by that time, so hardly noticed when we threw it away. Nice idea, poor execution. Next time I will stick with a "Tickle Bee" if they still make it.

On a plus note: The small magnetic particles were easy to vacuum when the plastic cracked and leaked them all over the floor.

I had completely forgotten about these for more than a decade, when someone referred to "that toy where you make a beard and a moustache". Being a proud portrayed of a prolific 'stache and pointed goatee, I realized that I NEEDED to obtain one for my desk at work.

Product arrived quickly, and in great shape. I feel like these were bigger in the past, but perhaps they make a larger size? The total length is basically 8x10, but the actual window you can create in is maybe 2 1/2" x 4"... Not very big. If you find a bigger one, grab that. But for about $3 I'm very satisfied.

I couldn't believe when I found one of these in the store! I have such great memories of playing with wooly willy (didn't sound as dirty when I was a kid) during the summer (did they not sell them during the winter? I don't know - but I only got them during the summer.). Wooly willy (oh boy, the name doesn't sound any less inappropriate with use) was a source of near-endless fun, using the magnet pen to move the black until the black magnetic dust started sticking to the plastic and Wooly willy was permanently wooly.

Wooly willy kept us quiet during long car rides, before the days of iPads, iPods, car-dvd players and Sirius XM. Wooly willy kept us entertained before ebooks, nooks and kindles, before DS's and PSP's and even (gasp!) gameboys. Wooly willy helped us to play by ourselves without being bored.

I want my kids to play with Wooly Willy but I fear that Wooly Willy woudn't wow as it once wowed us (try saying that ten times fast).

Hands down, one of the most interesting toys ever made. I owned this toy as a wee lass, and my memories of it are so strong that if I was in an extended coma and one whispered the words "Wooly Willy" into my ear, I would instantly come back to consciousness. Whatcha do is use the included magnetic wand to position the fine metal filings onto Willy's mug in order for him to acquire facial air. You just drag the filings to your desired location (e.g.under Willy's nose, his ears) and lift up the wand to release the filings. You can even then place the wand underneath the card to make the metal filings dance around a bit and make Willy's mustache twitch. Just tip the board to start all over again. Examples are presented on the back that one can experiment with...you can bring "Harry the Hermit", "Dick the Dude", and "Pete the Pirate" to life; this is exciting for people who have not had the pleasure of meeting these types in public. Hey, get crazy and recreate your loved ones as cave people and then go into frenzies of laughter. The back of the card has a small slot to contain the wand. Not a knock off, and virtually the same as it was thirty-four years ago (in my case; please do not swoon). Made in the USA. For ages five and up. Willy is on the Toy Industry Association's "Century of Toys" list, and I know why! Come on, join the fun and rejoice in the existence of facial hair!

What's not to love about Wooly Willy. He kept me busy countless hours as a kid and hopefully he is going to bring that same calmness and peace that I go to the recipient of this gift. I just would sit and doodle with it and it's like worry beads, it just takes my mind off stress and is a mindless way to zone out!

Classic toy. I bought this for my 4 year old for Christmas. I used to play with it when I was young. She loves it, although it doesn't hold her attention for very long. I wish the pen had a magnet on both ends so my daughter wouldn't get so frustrated. Oh well. It's a pretty simple toy, you can't complain about much.

Rated by Disatified -- Outch! -- This item is quite smaller than I thought, the tiny inside magnets or shell I say the magnetic pencil, do not cooperate with each other very well, you have to go into warp drive in order to get the magnets to move with the magnetic pencil, even though Wooly Willy is lying flat on a flat surface, which means, there is something truly wrong with these dead magnetics, which appears to not want to move or follow the pencil command (smile).
