The Smith Parallel is a great sports frame with a secure fit, and easy to swap interchangeable lenses. The polarized primary lens is great for general use, and the spares swap in easily for lower light conditions.Medium Fit/Medium coverage.
Top customer reviews
I bought these unisex frames to replace my aging Smith Theory pair. These are the closest I can find to the Theory model, but are wider. This is a plus in that it lets in less light from the sides; however, on my narrow female face they are wider than I prefer. They are also looser than my Theory pair, but not so loose as to slip down my nose. The Parallels are also a very light frame, but do not feel cheap at all.
I bought the brown for the polarized lenses. The lenses are SHARP and fairly dark. Like other polarized lenses, it's hard to see some things, like the display on my car radio (however, I have no problem seeing the screen on my smartphone). The frames, however, are a very dull brown - boring, actually. I was disappointed in the color, wish Smith would provide polarized lenses in their frame colors other than brown/black.
Still, I believe in the quality of the Smith brand - my prior Smiths went through intense daily use for 5 years (used 2 sets of lenses), including rafting through the Grand Canyon.
My vendor here was Hibiscus. The shipping was phenomenal. The frame came with 3 sets of lenses (brown polarized, ignitor (red tint), and clear), a large, hard zip case (handy!) and a small Smith sticker. There was no cloth included. The customer service was pleasant.
