Got this knife today very stout superb combat weapon earlier review said it was impossible to sharpen. I put it on a 6 dollar smith 2 way it is not quite razor sharp but I don't want my survival knife that sharp anyway. (though I could get it to razor if I wanted) Awesome weapon perfectly balanced. Balanced enough to be a throwing knife. Any side that would hit you would hurt, injure, or kill. Butt plate has a lanyard hole good feature for a combat knife for a wrist lanyard. For combat I would like for butt plate to be pointed but there is a draw back to that catching on clothing in a fast action situation. With the square butt plate and as heavy as the knife is a blow to the temple or the eye. Game over. Plastic lined nylon case OK. Sharpener and pouch good feature. Leg strap great. Serrations on top not sharp enough to saw will need to touch up with a file. That may mess up the pretty camo paint but for me that makes no difference. (hang it on the wall if you want pretty)Tang guards are perfect thumb on top index finger inside guard for cutting pressure finger outside guard for fighting. Tang guards are the balance point. Going camping soon will abuse it a little and give another review later. I will give it 4 stars for now. 1-12-2013 Update I broke one of the handles throwing it. It was a bad throw if it would hit point or butt would have been fine. Took off the handle and wrapped in para cord. Feels great and nothing will ever break again.

I've not seen so many whiny reviews for a knife of this caliber in a long time. Yes, it's BIG AND HEAVY! It's supposed to be BIG AND HEAVY! If you think it's TOO BIG and HEAVY you didn't read the specs here or any online reviews. If you still think it's TOO BIG AND HEAVY then you're using it wrong! Here, let me get you a Hello Kitty knife instead. This blade is a beast for a reason. It's a tactical/survival style knife so it's meant to be large, very strong and manly so stop being un-manly and man-up! That's not a saw on the back either, oh ye of little tactical knowledge. This is a defense knife and the "hooks" on the back are there to cause damage to that attacking zombie and as a blade catch/breaker, if said zombie has his own knife, though we know zombies can't use tools. Or can they? Better safe than sorry! And if you can't sharpen this successfully its because you don't know how to sharpen a blade, my friend.

I own three S&W blades and have been very happy with all of them. My S&W SWAT folder has as much awesomeness as this monster but in a small, easy to dispense package. I also own several Gerbers, Spyderco, SOGs and Cold Steele (Yes, I like knives. What's your point?) but this is by far the beefiest mofo of them all. It's BIG and HEAVY, thick and full-tang and the grips are excellent for this type of knife. G10 laminate is glass-woven fabric impregnated with epoxy resin and formed under high pressure. Its water absorption is minimal, has a temperature rating of 365°F (180°C) and doesn't get too cold or hot in the hand during weather extremes. I just used this baby up along the Gunflint Trail in the frozen tundra of Northern Minnesota in January and the temp was -26°F. I tried a bit of wood and ice chopping without a glove with no problems at all!

I was looking for a well built knife for around my shop and this fit the bill. It is a really nice full tang and is super thick. It almost feels like I could chop down a tree with this thing. I don't have to worry about the blade breaking. I would recommend it.

I have been the proud owner of this knife for quite some time. It is a very well thought out knife. 440c stainless steel with a titanium coating to fend off corrosion. There are three holes in the handle that will accommodate 550 cord to turn it into a spear. The butt of the knife is excellent for breaking car windows and as a blunt force weapon. Which brings me to my next and favorite feature of this knife... The spine of the knife, I have heard a lot of complaining about it being a worthless saw. Well.. thats be cause it is NOT A SAW!!! This is a true combat knife. The spine is designed to be a lethal blunt force weapon. The seven serrations (more accurately "Claws") are made to strike the attacking combatant in the scull. At which point the "Claws" as I call them, grab the bits of broken bone and rip them away exposing our most vital organ... the brain. This knife is not a boyscout survival knife. This is a combat capable weapon as is proven by the Smith & Wesson name it carries. I highly recommend this knife for Military, Paramilitary, Law Enforcement, and combat knife enthusiasts.

The sheath it comes with is excelent and very sturdy. The sheath is made of very hard plastic and wrapped in a heavy duty nylon. It has a belt loop and two strap loops to secure it to your leg. The sheath however, is not reversible. I don't see this as an issue as both sides of the knife are leathal. I had no issue sharpening this knife and it holds its edge very well, especially if you resharpen it with the water stone it comes with after each use. I would much rather carry this instead of the standard issue KaBar used by the US Marines.
