That is why Smittybilt's M-1 truck line, the SRC/XRC lines of rock crawling accessories and the XRC/X20 winch families are backed by the Smittybilt Advantage Warranty – one of the strongest warranties available in the off-road market.
This warranty features limited lifetime coverage for all steel-based products, such as bumpers, sides, steps and armor, from manufacturer defects. It also offers a five-year warranty on our signature two-stage powdercoat finish, which is available in textured, satin or gloss black.
For Smittybilt's line of waterproof winches, enjoy peace of mind with a lifetime mechanical warranty, as well as an extended electrical warranty (five years for X20 and three years for XRC models).
Smittybilt offers these extended warranties because they stand behind their products and want their customers to enjoy the freedom of off-roading without the worry and limits of fragile equipment. Welcome to the new Smittybilt – where history and experience lead to innovation and quality.

First, the Pro's:
1) It's FAST! We have 32" tires on our Jeep, so they are not the biggest, and the Smittybilt lets us air up very quickly. Going from about 15 PSI to 38 PSI takes about 1.5 minutes per tire.
2) It's quiet. I have another portable air compressor that just about blows your ear drums out. I was expecting the Smittybilt to be similarly loud, but it's not loud at all.
3) Great features, including rubber anti-vibration feet, dust seal over the on/off switch, canvas carry bag, and a few basic inflation tips for air mattresses and such (I have not used those yet).
4) It does not run hot. Contrary to many of the reviews, our compressor does not get very hot. After airing up all 4 tires, it is only warm to the touch. I have never had to use gloves to disconnect the hoses, pick up the compressor, or anything. I really am not sure what the fuss is about.
The Cons:
1) The inline air gauge reads about 8 PSI too high while using the compressor. With the compressor turned off, it reads 5 PSI too low. This makes the air gauge a bit of a joke, in my opinion. When inflating, I just interpolate the extra 8 PSI, and then fine tune with my Jaco gauge, before driving away. I wish there was a way to calibrate the air gauge to be accurate. This is the biggest negative, in my opinion.
2) Other people said the carry bag was big enough to carry everything needed, but the bag that came with mine is not even close to big enough to put the 24' hose in with everything. However, while some folks said their carry bag was paper thin, ours seems just fine. Time will tell how long it lasts, but it seems plenty thick and sturdy to me.
3) The screw-on fill tip is a bit inconvenient, as you do lose a bit of air when removing it from the valve stem, but since I am fine tuning the PSI after airing up anyway, this is only a minor inconvenience for me.
Overall, we felt that the Smittybilt 2781 was an excellent buy, and works extremely well for airing up after going wheeling. I did not mention the proprietary fittings in either Pro's or Con's, because I am not affected negatively by them, but they don't add any extra value, so I am neutral about them. I may swap them out at some point, but it is not a priority for me, as I bought this compressor strictly for airing up, and the proprietary connectors work just fine for that. We would (and have) recommended this compressor to friends and family, mainly due to the performance/price ratio. ARB is WAY too proud of their compressor, there is no way it is worth almost 4X the money.
The Smittybilt easily deserves a solid 4 Stars rating, and a good strong recommendation.
Update - January 30, 2021: After using the Smittybilt 2781 compressor maybe a dozen times, the in-line air gauge (which was not super accurate when new, see my review above) suddenly started reading very high. To inflate the tire to actual 35 PSI, the gauge read over 110 PSI! I was checking the pressure with a separate handheld pressure gauge to make sure what PSI was actually in the tires. During the air up on my other tires, the gauge started reading even higher. This happened on a Saturday, and Smittybilt's Customer Service phone line had a message stating that, "To better serve our customers in these times, we have changed our hours to 7AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday.", and then it hung up in my ear. (Man, I am tired of hearing companies saying, "in these times". It just sounds like a BS excuse to me.) I will update this review again, once I speak with Smittybilt, since this purchase is no longer eligible for return.
I’ve used it 25 – 30 times now and it has performed very well and I was very surprised at how much improvement airing down the tires makes, especially in snow. We were on a mountain trail on April 29th 2018 and there was an unexpected spring blizzard resulting in around two feet of snow at higher elevations in the Adirondacks. I aired the tires down to 15PSI and chewed right through the deepest snow even when the undercarriage was dragging.

the hose connections are not any kind of standard fitting you would expect on a compressor you would buy at a big box store so forget about using a different hose or air chuck. you are stuck with what came with it unless you want to try and reverse engineer this thing to take a standard quick disconnect so you can use a better hose and chuck.. Ill make it work until it burns up and spen more money next time on a better product. I am not impressed with this!
My only comment is I would like to be able to check the tire pressure without having to shut off the pump. Not a big deal at all, just one idea for the next model.
Highly recommend and would purchase again. Great value for the money.

This thing is fast, and surprisingly quiet. One thing is for sure, keep your engine running while using this compressor. It draws up to 45amps according to the tag on the compressor, and it will pump faster with the engine running anyways. I have 37x12.5x17's on my Jeep, and I air down to 9psi for the trails. On the streets I typically run anywhere from 20-25psi, and this little guy will fill all four tires up in less than 8 minutes.
Pros: Very fast, not ridiculously loud, about a dozen uses so far without incident.
Cons: I dislike the coiled air hose and proprietary air fittings this uses. The output of the compressor is threaded for a metric air fitting, I would have liked to make a new hose from the compressor's output to adapt to standard quick connects, but the metric fitting is very hard to find, so I spliced a quick-connect onto the factory hose (bye bye warranty). It also runs very hot, not really a huge con, but it takes a minute to cool down before you can store it.
Please note: The photos show the air hose after I have modified it for standard air quick-connect fittings, to be able to attach a standard air hose and attachments. This is not how the compressor arrives.
