Includes the Smokenator 1000, partnered with a 247 square inch (17 3/4" diameter, 3.5" high) collapsible Hovergrill. The Smokenator by itself converts your existing 22 Weber kettle into a smoker that is more efficient, easier to use and easier to clean up than the traditional vertical water smoker. No more hassle with charcoal baskets, rails and aluminum foil and figuring out how to keep water over the coals to add moisture. The Smokenator is an industrial strength product, made out of 18-gage sheet stainless, which won't rust. The Smokenator 1000 is listed as a separate unit selling in Amazon. You can read more about the features there. The whole idea of the Smokenator-Hovergrill kit is to provide you with a means and a method to let you control your Weber and provide extra grill capacity. The existing Weber food support grill and Hovergrill provide 550 square inches of surface to smoke over 15 pounds of ribs or 7 chicken halves. This combination has more area than a Weber Smokey Mountain. This accessory works with all meats, but especially chicken and turkey by keeping it moist. Pork ribs and roasts come out superbly flavored and are very moist. The Smokenator is versatile; you can even cook a 25-pound turkey. The Smokenator is shipped with complete instructions, on how to regulate the Weber to produce excellent smoked food in the classic way. You can go to YOUTUBE, query on SMOKENATOR and view a 6 minute video on how to set up the Smokenator. The instructions show you how to set up your Weber Kettle's, lower and upper vents and gives you clear concise instructions on how to regulate the air needed to smoke your food when you use Kingsford charcoal. These instructions represent over 40 hours of research and effort, putting you ahead. If you are looking for a way to stretch the versatility of your Weber, save space and money the Smokenator and Hovergrill is for you.

My first attempt was 8 lb pork butt. That took 14 hrs and was pretty good. but my second attempt was 3 racks of spare ribs, and 8 lb turkey breast and about 8 chicken sausages (that got put in about halfway through the cook). They turned out awsome!!! I have had very few ribs that matched what I turned out that day,and my wife said she wants one turkey breast done like this a month. lol all in, the second cook took only 7 hrs and was very pleasant compared to my nervous first attempt. this product gave me the courage to try smoking and also the desire to learn more tips tricks to turn out even better Q .
one note that has been echoed in these reviews...read that manual!!!! He spent alot of time on the use of this product and it shows in the printed material.
Also everything you learn from this item can crossover to your bigger better smoker down the road.
good luck, Matt and Deb
My only semi-complaint is the hoover grill could have been made a little better. It comes across cheap but it does what it's intended.
Moral of my story, if you have a weber and have wanted to try your hand at Smoking - you can not lose.
On a side note: my ribs look exactly like the picture - no kidding
I found I like to use one hand to set the hover grill on the concrete for a couple of minutes while tending the meat on the main grill. This was a problem at first as the folding legs collapsed inwards when I picked it up making it necessary to use both hands to set it down. Both on the concrete and when returning it to the grill. My solution was to carefully weld the legs permanently open. Problem solved. Others may need the legs to fold. What ever works for you is best. Just an idea for those who ran into the same problem I did.
This product WILL make it very easy to get a steady 225-250 degrees of steamy smoke inside your Weber kettle grill, *if* you take the time to do a dry run first, or at LEAST resist the temptation to inaugurate it on the bosses first visit to the house. Take the time to get used to managing the airflow, and you can cook first class smoked foods time after time. I've used mine all summer and LOVE it, culminating with my very first smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, and might I say it turned out perfectly, first time.
I won't belabor how, the details are covered in great detail on the web, just do a search to find them. Suffice it to say, if you own a Weber kettle, like smoked meat, and like versatility in your cooking equipment, you need the Smokenator.
