While the book was no surprise, it did explain the process well and clearly. I would recommend this book for anyone who is honestly tired of being stuck in the smoker category, and wants to quit.
This is a very straight forward book that discusses the cons of smoking along with how to quit, including replacement therapy. I have read books on how to quit smoking in the past, and this one is definitely different. It is a short guide that gets to the point of the risk smoking presents, reasons to quit, how to quit, to counseling and maintaining success.
The plan to quit is laid out by someone who has been there. It is a challenge, and this book addresses many common problems and how to stay strong while stopping the addiction.
While I don't personally smoke, I am looking forward to sharing this information with a few family members that do.
Withdrawal symptoms were the number one reason why I was never able to quit smoking. Craving for nicotine is all I think about when I tried to give up smoking in the past. This book explains the physical and physiological withdrawal symptoms of smoking and helps the reader to have a solid understanding of what smoking and nicotine does to your body. I have suffered from depression most of my adult life. I was never aware that smoking and depression were partners. Preparation and knowledge gained through this book increases any chance for success. This book will help you to find ways to deal with the stress caused from triggers and cravings by changing how you associate smoking a cigarette with daily rituals such as coffee, alcohol and friends who smoke. I definitely recommend this book if you what to quit smoking for the final time.
