Product Description

Product Description

Here's a pair of utility knives that improve on a standard box cutter in every possible way. Safety first: these knives lock in the open and closed positions to prevent accidental opening and folding under cutting pressure. And they fold completely closed for safe storage whether in your pocket or tool drawer. Weight there's more: anodized aluminum handles are both stiff and light, and look, they sure are pretty and will stay that way for a long time. And if you need to get a grip, then the ridged handle edges will give you the hand you need. Oh, there is one thing they have in common with box cutters - they use the same readily available utility knife blades.

Once upon a time Snap-On was an outstanding manufacturer. Those days are apparently gone. This utility knife is a basic run-of-the-mill utility knife. It is neither exceptional nor does it have major faults. It is just an average and somewhat ugly and clumsy utility knife. There is a button located near the front of the knife that can be pushed to close and open the knife blade holder. There is another button on the front of the blade holder that can be pushed to replace the blade. Changing the blade with this Snap-on is a two hand operation and easier to do then with, for aeample, the Stanley utility knife. You can hold this Snap-On knife in one hand and also use that same hand to push the release button while using the other hand to change the blade. With the Stanley you hold the knife in one hand, pull up the latch with your second hand and then you are required to use your third hand to change the blade. The Stanley has a better appearance but probably few utility knife users consider appearance a major factor when making a knife purchase.

Although this knife is utile I would not have purchased it if I had known it was made in China or Taiwan. The packaging says Taiwan and the knife says China. Because we are in such serious need of jobs here in the USA I try to do my part by buying USA made products whenever possible.

I bought this Snap-On Item because I got 2-Utility Knives for less than I would have paid for a single Utility Knife, which I didn't need anything fantastic I just needed a simple Knife to cut boxes, & other non industrial items and they work well when I use them..The blades are easy to change and can be done with one hand, I like the plastic blade cover they added for additional safety, the only thing with that is it prevents the blade from sliding into the handle smoothly, you have to move the plastic cover over just a hair and then it slides in. NOTE: I only had this problem with the red one, which I used and liked the most cause of the color which made it different and gave it flare for a knife, but not so much anymore, now my favorite is the plain ol black one. This particular Knife does NOT have any clips or anyway to strap-on for quick, easy access, which I noticed was a big deal for A LOT of purchasers, other than that they are still good knives for a descent price. SNAP-ON -PLEASE PUT A CLIP ON THESE KNIVES OR PUT A CLIP ON A CASE THAT FIT THESE KNIVES AND YOU DEFINITELY WOULD MAKE MORE PEOPLE HAPPY..

I ordered these knives for my son. He is happy with them. He says they are high quality, and the price was fair. They do not have a clip on the back, if that's important to you. That wasn't specified in the description.

Item is as shown and arrived in good working order. A little disappointed in the design as they lack pocket clips and could have easily incorporated them. Still, they are well made and can be opened with one hand carefully and with practice. I kept one and gave one as a gift to a friend who was doing some drywall work in his house. While mine has worked flawlessly for me, he said that cutting drywall made the blade pop out repeatedly. Blade quick release design doesn't hold it as securely as he would like. Still, a decent quality item that is very fair for the price. Shipping was fast and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple durable folding utility knife.

Pretty good knives. Fairly easy to change and they feel good in the hand. The only two things I don't like about them is that there is not a pocket clip, and I can't open and close with one hand. They're still good knives though and they do feel pretty sturdy.

I just moved into a new place. Somewhere along the line I lost my utility knife, so got these. They have become a daily use item. One is in the kitchen and another in the tool chest. I think they are good looking and well made. They do what all these knives do--give you that sharp, replaceable blade. They do it very nicely. One thing to mention--unlike many knives, these lock both open and closed. It is a safety feature. If you are looking for a one-hand opener, these won't do it.

Two for the price of one. The easy release blade button made replacing blades easy and fast. The one button fold action allows for quick and easy use. The price was perfect. The value was exceptional. No belt clip which made carrying in my pocket that much more convenient.

I had an older Snap-on utility knive and it was a pain to release the blade. They fixed this problem with a new release method. It works great. It also closes nicely and feels right. The rice is too good to be true.
