This is where the book started to lose me. The writing style is fine, but Georgia is pretty immature. We don’t get Jeremiah’s perspective (at least not in the 40% of the book I got through), so it’s hard to tell what he’s thinking about Georgia. The final straw for me (minor spoilers here) is when Georgia initiates sexting with Jeremiah - while sitting next to her boyfriend - then has sex with her boyfriend because the sexting got her in the mood. Her boyfriend then proceeds to use racial slurs and she STILL doesn’t break up with him. After that... not interested in our heroine getting a happy ending. Oh, and the road trip still hadn’t happened at that point so I can’t comment on that. All in all, it just wasn’t a story I was interested in reading. There was a great build up of chemistry between the two main characters and though their love is controversial (appears like cheating) I have to honestly say that the relationships they are in with their partners are very dead. They lack any passion or respect, so by the time these two find each other it doesn’t feel like cheating, more like the beginning of moving on.
I didn’t fully see why Georgia stayed with her bf so long especially after he started showing signs of prejudice BUT it’s hard to leave a comfort zone especially when you are young.
I thought the end was perfect! The plot was smooth and even the extra characters had lots of diversity!
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.
