In short, this is an electrical outlet cover. Just a cover. It has 3 LED lights on one end and a small "eye" on the front.
Installing this is as simple as installing a new cover for your outlet. The cover has two small flaps that wrap around your electrical outlet box and that is what conducts electricity to the LED lights.
I actually took a video of the installation which took under 2 minutes. All I had to do was turn off the power to that outlet, unscrew my current outlet cover and replace it with SnapPower.
Was it actually that simple? Well, yes and no...
Yes, chances are you will have it installed in under two minutes. I had an initial issue. My outlet is horizontal, and the SnapPower LED lights would not work if installed in a certain direction. I don't know why. You will see in my video that the LED lights are pointing to the right when I installed them, but to get them working, I had to turn the plate around so the LEDs point to the left. Though I prefer it the other way, it's not a big deal.
The LEDs automatically come on when it gets dark. What is really cool is that this is a gradual process. As the room begins to darken, the LEDs grow from a dim to a full brightness status.
The only downside to this product is I wish the LEDs were a little brighter. I also wish there were a lot more colors to choose from. However, at a quick glance, there are at least four basic colors which should go with any decor.
The price is dirt cheap, enabling you to pick up a handful of these and go to town making sure your home has a guiding light in just about every room.
I would highly, highly recommend SnapPower. It just works!

I actually accidentally discovered this product in a Magazine's Top Gadgets of the year. At that point, I really had no idea a gadget like this actually existed.
