Product description

Snareweight #4 is the fourth generation built for metal triple flange hoops. It's made to last of a weighted solid 3/4lbs. chunk of brass. The weight, friction and magnet, all work together to create what we call "expressive dampening"- giving color to your playing all the way through the dynamic range. The neodymium arched magnet secures the Snareweight to the hoop while at the same time securing the leather insert of your choice for your dampening needs. Snareweight #4 is the only body you will ever need. Slide the #4 around the rim with one hand while hitting the drum with the other until you find the sweet spot. ---To make sure your hoop is right for snareweight, try a household magnet against the rim, if it attracts you have a triple flange hoop, if not check out the pro lock + #4 for die cast hoops--- Snareweight #4 is designed to fit with the new and improved pro-lock for die cast (non magnetic) hoops as well. They work as at team to give you a floating lock around your die-cast hoop. Since the 1st designs of 2011, there has been a few improvements to the magnet and magnet enclosure. Recessed screws now anchor the magnet as well as a raised brass lip to prevent the magnet from chipping. Also we included what we call the "absorber" above the magnet to prevent jitter at certain tuning. This also costs more to manufacture but we feel it's worth it. Other info: Snareweight #4 is the flagship damper offering the most options for dialing in the right amount of dampening quickly. Snareweight adds mass to the head which helps to evenly smooth the lower-mid ringing frequencies that can't be reached with other methods. The unwanted ring of the high frequencies are shaped by the chosen insert in a snap by matching the insert with a drummers favorite drum head. From an engineering stand point with the weight of a Snareweight #4, you get about 2-3 db of compression from your drum, which helps to reel it in for optimum recording levels
