From the Author
Snow Angel was one of those stories that demanded to be written. It barged right in when I was in the middle of writing a paranormal romance, Remember Me (which will finally have its turn and be out winter 2014/2015!) It grabbed me by the hair and refused to sit quietly in its corner while I finished my work-in-progress.
At the time, I thought it would be a 6,000-word short story, something quick and easy to write and publish, and then I could go right back to Remember Me. Only that's not what happened. Snow Angel became a 130,000-word novel, the longest I've yet written, and started me off on a brand-new series, High Desert Hearts.
I'm in love. I have to admit it. I never dreamed I would want to write a series set in a (highly romanticized) version of my hometown in California's high desert, or that it would be populated with a cast I've already come to know and love so well that they are almost all I can think about.
Snow Angel is Melinda and Jacob's story, but there are so many more begging to be written, and all of them want their day in the spotlight.
But since that's not possible, some will have to wait. Luckily for Eddie Thomas, his book is next. I hope you come to love Eddie as much as I already do, just from reading about him in Snow Angel. He's a quiet warrior, a gentle soul, but woe betide the person who picks on someone smaller or weaker in Eddie's presence. He's going to need that fighting spirit to win the girl of his dreams, because Yvette is in more than a little trouble...
Desert Damsel will be out in spring ~ 2015.
But that's for later.
First, Melinda and Jacob need to sort out just where their life-long friendship is headed. There will be some bumps along the way, but I hope you enjoy their journey!

Set in California and ski slopes of Utah, the story is one of friends turned lovers. Fresh off a breakup, Melinda headed to Utah for a spot of skiing after Christmas, accompanied by a gaggle of family and long-time friends. While there, a relationship starts up with her best friend forever, Jacob. But if they go forward with the relationship and things don't work, will it break the families up? Will their friendship be forever damaged?
Having read Ms. White's other stories, I excitedly picked this one up as soon as it came out. She never disappoints! And since this is tagged as 'Book 1', I have more stories to look forward to!
