Cathe Swanson's fiction debut "Snow Angels" is a heartwarming, humorous, romantic novella that I could absolutely see made into a Hallmarkmovie! In fact, if I'm allowed a wishlist for thatchannel-of-all-movies-Christmas, "Snow Angels" currently is at the top.Vivid characters, the perfect dose of laughter, a nice touch of swoonfactor - and a touching reminder that there but for the grace of God goany of us. - Carrie Schmidt, Reading is my Superpower
About the Author
Cathe Swanson lives in Wisconsin with her husband of 32 years. They enjoy spending time with their family and being outdoors, kayaking, hiking, birdwatching and fishing, but summer is short in Wisconsin, so it’s important to have indoor hobbies, too. Cathe has been a quilter and teacher of quiltmaking for over 25 years, and she enjoys just about any kind of creative work, especially those involving fiber or paper. She enjoys writing stories with eccentric characters of all ages. Her books will make you laugh and make you cry – and then make you laugh again.

Pete's sense of humor as he realizes Lisa has figured out what he neglected to tell her, and his sensitivity to accept Lisa's crazy actions with understanding for her motivation, makes him the perfect, if messy, knight.
In addition to a story that makes you feel good and want to do good, several timely topics (homelessness, PTSD, etc) are brought to light in life-situations. I feel rewarded to walk away with a nugget or two that opened my eyes or expanded my understanding on a topic, in addition to a warm heart at the hopeful outcome of a good read.
Lisa is a widow who blames herself for not being present when her late husband contracted the illness that took his life. She's a podiatric nurse now. She also has PTSD around her loss. She gets "guilted" by her sister-in-law to serve Thanksgiving at the Homeless Shelter, where an incident sends her reeling and forces her to abandon her service to hide.
Anders "Pete" Petersen works with the men at the Shelter, but when Lisa first meets him, she mistakes him for a client. She finds that her elderly patients need help, and assumes Pete needs the work, so, without talking to him, she dreams up a scheme to help out both ends of the equation, little knowing just how much she's also helping herself.
I haven't laughed this hard in a while, nor cried as much. In this funny, poignant novella, Cathe Swanson reminds our jaded world just what the holidays are all about. Looking forward to seeing this author in other works. Highly recommended
