It may be off-putting to many that Snow White has seven lovers, and that she is with one of the men each night. While it wasn't that off-putting to me, one can't help but wonder how long that kind of arrangement could last, and eventually wouldn't something like that crumble as the men eventually (and probably) will fall in love with another woman, or just move on with their life? And where would that leave Snow White? Probably am a nutters for thinking about the future, but I guess I'm a worrier and those are the kinds of things I think about! Lol.
I did enjoy the book, though. I felt the ending was kind of rushed and the final scene was a bit unfinished? I definitely would have pressed charges against *spoilerrrrr* and Prince Charming was *spoiler*; he made me laugh, but I kind of saw it coming with what his name was and etc. If you like a HUGE twist on an old fairy tale, one that features multiple partners and hot hot raunchy sex, this book is definitely for you. I can see why some people might be uppity about the book's content and to those people I say... Have you READ the book title? She has SEVEN LOVERS. Also, it's an erotica. What the heck do you not get? I will definitely read more from this author! :)
A beautiful young woman is found poisoned in an apple orchard. She wakes up with amnesia, but luckily, her foxy Doc lives in a former bed-and-breakfast with his six best male friends. And they'd all love to have the woman - dubbed Blanche for now - stay with them until she recovers her memory.
If you enjoy explicitly sexual, witty, tongue-in-cheek stories with a generous helping of the unbelievable, you should take a bite of this book. Ives does an incredibly clever job creating personas for Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Bashful and the rest and a unique connection to our heroine, who has very different sexual and emotional relationships with all of them.
Where this is weak is at the end, where the Prince of Charming Industries comes forward to claim his fiancée, and Blanche's identity is revealed. Her stepmother is probably the one who poisoned her, but there isn't any real motivation shown, and nobody seems concerned that she might keep trying. However, we don't get to dwell on this for very long, as we jump right into bed for a hot menage scene.
Despite the number of sex scenes (lots) they're all unique, and equally hot. (Ives needs to better differentiate between her heroes' and heroine's sound effects, however.) If you want a short spicy read, for less than the price of a latté, this is a great choice.
I haven't read much erotic romance, so I was surprised at the light, playful tone of this novel. The sex scenes were hot, fun, and varied, but it was the humorous tone of the story that really kept it all together. This modern take on the classic fairy tale doesn't take itself too seriously, which makes for a fun read for erotic romance fans!
