Cat & Chloe are identical twin sister, but that's where the resemblence ends. Chloe is an actress on a soap opera in L.A. She's spoiled rotten to the core and acts like the world revolves around her becon call. She ends up paying her sister a meager salary for putting her life on the line, yet, she treats her own twin sister no better than a slave. She has no friends, and even the people she works with can't stand her.
Cat was once a kick- a** detective with the Denver PD, until two years before when her live in boyfriend was arrested for running a Ponzi scheme. The authorities still don't believe she had no idea what he had been up to, and it not only cost Cat her boyfriend, but also her job, her house, and the inheritance her deceased father had left her 5 yrs ago. Her only option was to go to work a security for her sister, only as it turns out, her sister ends up demanding a whole lot more from her than being her personal bodyguard. Cat is fed up and ready to call it quits, but then her sister starts to get death threats so she stays on out of family loyality.
Grayson is on assignment with the FBI, and he’s undercover posing as an actor. His Grandmother, GG, had broken out of yet another retirement home the day before he was scheduled to leave on his latest assignment, one of many in the past it seems, so he had no other choice but to drag her along, and introduce her as his manager. When he first took on this job, he thought it was going to be a piece of cake to solve, but he couldn't have been more wrong.
I love this small town of Christmas, Colorado and all of its colorful, funny, nosy and generally friendly townspeople. Catching up with the lives of characters from previous books was fun, but this story has its own fair share of fun and likable characters, too. Ty, Cat's gay BFF--- had me in hysterics with his wild antic's throughout the whole story. He was so much fun I just wanted to hug him. I really didn't much care if Chloe was killed or not by the half-way point in the story. That woman drove me nuts with her self-centered, spoiled whiney ways. I always wondered what went on with the twins and Easton to cause all that bad-blood between the three, and thanks to this book, now I know.
I can't wait for the next installment to be released, because I am thoroughly hooked on this series!
By the end, I had almost figured out who it was but was caught a bit by surprise.
