Chapter one then starts a year ago and we get to see how these two childhood friends' went from friends w/benefits to strangers in the night. And each chapter we get closer to the now.
The story has great bones. The delivery was below par. The writing was chopping, blocking off any flow to the story, therefore I didn't feel a connection to the characters. I finished the book to see how Cameron healed the wounds between him and Levi but I did a LOT of skipping after about 2/3 of the way through.
This is the friends to lovers story of Cameron and Levi. The story has just the right amount of laughter, love, fun and sex. Wow, the sex...these two are HOT!!
I loved how descriptive the author was with the scenes in the book. While reading the story, I felt like I stepped into the sleepy Christmas town in Maine. I want to live in Dickensville!! I could smell the cinnamon buns and coffee when she was describing The Drink and Dunk Café and I could imagine the tree lined, snowy streets in the quaint little town.
This short story packed a punch and I hope we get more of Cameron and Levi. I can't wait to get more stories from this author as well!!
This is the perfect story to read bundled up in front of the fire with some hot chocolate and a cinnamon bun.
sometimes something wonderful comes in small packages and this short Christmas story fills that to a T..... A friends with benefits to something more starting one Christmas break when Levi reveals he wants something more and Cam's struggles to figure out what he wants during the next year leading up to the holidays..
I highly recommend this story
I enjoyed the friendship and interactions between Cam and Levi and yes, Cam is an idiot, but when he finally realises that he is an idiot, he does what he has to do to make it right.
A lovely read for a cosy winters night in front of the fire.
