On a future, frozen Earth, humanity has been packed onto self-sustaining trains, doomed to circumnavigate the globe until the end of the interminable ice age - or until the engines give out.

When a scrap of music piques their interest, the inhabitants of the Icebreaker take the ultimate risk and cross the frozen ocean, a vast expanse with no train tracks... and no way to return to them.

I will start off by saying that I reviewed the first 2 issues of this series and the review title is "The Future Is Bleak" if you're interested in reading them. I will now continue with the review for this issue. I loved it and it was probably my favorite issue out of the entire series due large in part to it tying into the movie to a degree. The story continues immediately after the 2nd issue where Puig walks into the room with the music and everyone is dead. The story rapidly escalates from there into much darker themes more so then in the other issues. The pacing was perfect up until the end but I will get to that at the end. The imagery is Amazing like always with vivid detail being applied. I would definitely recommend reading this series though the sad part is that I feel that this is the close of the series and if it's not then that is great news. I will not spoil the conclusion obviously but it was done with such finesse though a tad rushed in my opinion. I feel the comic could have been at least another 50 pages and it would have then been Superb. I say this is a buy for sure especially if you loved the movie.

Very well done and fitting ending (presumably) to the series. Very interesting look at dystopian themes, and a worthwile look at both the best and worst of humanity. It's a larger volume that V1 or V2, and the art is a tad rougher, although it fits the style well. Theres a bit of nudity in the book, but it's very purposeful. There's also a bit of sex, but again, it's in the service of the story, and surprisingly, the nudity and the sex aren't really paired. And not nearly as much violence as you might expect. Volume 2 is required reading before this volume.

SNOWPIERCER 3: TERMINUS is the third and final volume in the Snowpiercer Trilogy. It begins immediately where the previous volume, SNOWPIERCER 2: THE EXPLORERS ended. It turns out that the remnants of humanity aboard the Snowpiercer train might not be the only humans to have survived the worldwide calamity that froze the Earth centuries ago. While there are differences, the plot reminded me very much of BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES. Despite those similarities, I would say that overall, SNOWPIERCER 3: TERMINUS is my 2nd favorite volume in the Snowpiercer trilogy.

great story arch even if this 3rd volume is not quit as great as number 1 & 2. the main story line is outside of the train.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the three, and I really want one of their mouse masks...
Reviewed in Canada on August 22, 2016
Best (and largest) of the three Snowpiercer books. This final chapter takes the reader away from the familiar train, and into a new setting. Not only does it allow the story to grow beyond the claustrophobic life aboard Snowpiercer, but it also shows an alternate way some of humanity survived the cold cataclysm of the story world. If you've made it through Book 1 and 2, this third installment is the real payoff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 25, 2016
Fantastic, where the second book falls a a little short, this book brings it right back. Questions society in a way the first one did, this time, taking a slightly different approach. There was one moment that was a little one the nose, and a really good twist for fans of the series (and the film).

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s back, and-
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 13, 2016
Well, if not better than ever, certainly none the worse for a break.

This volume starts off exactly where the book “Snowpiercer 2:The Explorers” left off, that’s if you’ve read the third Snowpiercer story “The Crossing” which is the second half of “Snowpiercer 2 :The Explorers”, at least in the edition I have. Yep, let’s get confusing “Snowpiercer 3” is the third book, but the fourth story, and if the second and third stories made it into book form separately as well, well, you know what I mean.

The standard of the drawings remains high, and there is some good use of colour.

So, the train is off the rails, the broadcast music has not led our protagonists to survivors, and we’re off into some fairly familiar but well-executed post-apocalypse imagery and themes. You could look back to “A Boy and His Dog”, “Beneath the Planet of the Apes”, “Mad Max: Fury Road” (but only if you really must, or as a reminder of how the makers there fluffed it big time) and many, many others in book, film and no doubt graphic novel form. But this plots a decent way through, tells a pretty good story quite well, and ends this thread quite effectively, as well as providing a quite neat link to the movie..

However, like Arthur C Clarke’s ending to “Rendezvous with Rama”, “The Ramans do Everything in Threes” (even if ACC said it wasn’t meant that way), we are offered the chance of more (and hope they won’t be as dire as RWR’s follow ons).
