Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Got worried as I ordered the English version and it came French. Realized I had ordered from a Canadian store, and the movie included slips for both translations. Apologies for the previous review, and hopefully the update is reflected!
It's nice to see Chris Evans in a darker, more serious role. Being the lead in a film is a huge responsibility, and I thought he did really well in this. Cool story that was well executed, and was paced really well. They took the time to flesh out the story instead of rushing through it and making it a big action movie. Well worth checking out.
Très belle edition' la bd complète édition cas terminé et dvd et bluray sans un Steel bookmakers très agréable, pour 10 euro à date d'achat on en a largement pour son argent sans compter que le film de Bon Jun Ho est une excellente adaptation de la bd
Disclaimer -- I'm a fan of SciFi, at least when it's well done. With that out of the way, Snowpiercer is a decent SciFi/action flick delivered on a small budget and an even smaller set and stage. Like others before me I had heard a lot of positive things on this movie, and the trailer teased me enough to shell out some of my hard earned cash, and I'm comfortable I got my money's worth.
But you need to know what you're going into before you make the same decision yourself. Reading through some of the other reviews there's criticism leveled at the violence, set, premise, etc. As I noted above it's a small budget flick and is sometimes the case the movie makes up for that through some dark violence and adult-comic style gore. It is not a Disney-esque adventure for the whole family. Snowpiercer is a movie where you watch for the story and the timely twisted take on the growing disparity between the haves and have not's of the world. In retrospect the SciFi elements are really limited to the opening premise and scenario, which is the remnants of humankind are existing on a world-wide bullet train after a new ice-age. From there on in its a fairly dark journey with more action then science.
I thought Chris Evans did an excellent job, as did Tilda Swinton who dominates every scene she's in. Be prepared to enjoy the acting and performances and not the characters, as there's not many hero's left to cheer for as the story reaches its conclusion -- you're pretty much left with a small dose of hope and a ray of light at the end of the ride.
