This book stood up to the question does Ms. Ray have the wring chops to produce another book as good as her first. I can tell you she certainly does. Well, let’s be fair. This is her third book but is it as good as Absurd book 1? In my mind, it is better. The 25 stories are well-plotted, and in the usual Ray style, a lot of fun but so were the stories in the first Absurd book. I think each segment has a surprising, heartfelt, or challenging ending coupled with some well thought out storylines makes for a higher quality read. Now let’s not forget my review of Absurd 1 was a five-star review, so we are talking about a pretty high bar here. It almost appears to me that Ms. Ray now knows she is a genius and is trying very hard to maintain that persona. We readers can only benefit from that kind of writer. (BTW she doesn’t have to try all that hard)
The great thing about Absurd Two is that the reader can fully enjoy the quality of the story and the writing talent of Ms. Ray without reading the first book. The stories are all new and do not relate to those in the first at all.
If the reader wants a book of stories that allow for relaxed reading and enjoyment, this is the book for them.
The book is a compilation of 25 individual stories that are sometimes satirical and twisted, but will resonate with the reader who enjoys cutting edge humor that is sexual, whimsical and borders on the edge of being more than crazy and into the realm of believability.
Each of the stories are unique in their own right and yet the sometimes use of wild and crazy labels and names for the characters are, quite frankly, wickedly fun as characterized in some of the short stories.
In one story you will be introduced to a sensual robotic Venus De Milo who will enact ultimate revenge on an unsuspecting male. This particular story is straight from the files of absurdity and yet has a sexual macabre twist of irony and believability. In another, you will be introduced to a tear collector…yes, a tear collector who gains their prize, but are the tears real?
So Absurd It Must Be True by Victoria Ray is a unique compilation of adult-themed short stories that will take the reader on the ultimate journey that leads down many topical paths to attain the ultimate destination for the reader. That destination is an entertaining, ironic and sometimes satirical read complete with twists and turns delivered in a creative and engaging manner.
I have always loved reading satirical, absurd, humorous and, dark comedy books, but not every time I get to enjoy some of the stories. But this one stands alone impressively and intriguing. It is a collection of beautiful stories with twists and turns, sure to keep you guessing. The characters are so real, I felt as though I knew them, and throughout every story are the pieces of wisdom for which the author is known. Relationships and interactions are people’s way of life, and we all experience different feelings in relationships. Victoria Ray provides a thoughtful collection of stories that contains profanity, fun or gross erotica, and elements of violence that face us in our everyday life.
Besides the uniqueness of the book, I have always admired her skills as a writer (I have read all of her previous books) and her books are still my taste. One must have a heart of stone to read So Absurd It Must Be True without laughing and noting down helpful life lessons. The grammar is impeccable, with an exceedingly impressive flow of the stories, not forgetting the engagement of the stories with the reader. This is the sweetest, saddest, most joyful, heartfelt collection of stories I have read in a while. I can’t recommend this book highly enough!
This book contains twenty-five parts in which the author tells surreal parodies about life, especially about topics like relationships, human feelings, and everyday situations. Each section is better than the last one, but if I have to choose one I would say that my favourite is “Santa Claire”.
Reading this book, you cannot fail to have a great time. There are marvellous, creepy, wise and funny stories written in an easy way. If I were to make one criticism of the book, it would be that it isn’t longer. I would highly recommend it!

If you want to know why her Dracula winks and chuckles, why her Raskolnikov is touchy, what is buried in her mouth, what Santa has to do with Papa Smurf or what Karenina has to tell Tolstoy, read this book!
A colorful, exciting and unpredictable book that will make you smile and stay with you.
