This cd is the most amazing cd I've ever heard. This band is so tight in their playing and their recordings..the songs are written so well..and they just have an awesome sound. Though most people haven't heard of them...THEY ARE MISSING OUT. I honestly would take this as my one cd I could take on a desert island. If that's not proof enough for you to buy this cd..you are out of your mind!

This isn't your typical mainstream band. Just listen to the guitars. They seem to carry a lot of emotion to it and make the songs very exciting. Every song is catchy and every musician has a chance to stand out, although sometimes the drumming could get a little repetitive and simplistic. The drummer creates very good drum fills, though, so he makes up for that. The bass guitarist really stands out in this album. You can actually hear what he does in every song.
This is also a very upbeat album with a lot of fun songs. The vocalist puts a lot of emotion in his singing and does a great job at it as well. Listen to Choke when he sings "Have you ever tried to scream under water?" He has very impressive vocal manipulative abilites. Very good background vocals, too. They add more punch to the songs.
Very good overall. Hopefully they won't start writing [bad] songs if they get popular...

this band has the potential to be a huge radio success. if they haven't already released a single, they should get on it because it would be huge.

along the same lines as New Found Glory (a comparison I have yet to see here), Cauterize has an upbeat pop-punk sound which contrasts perfectly with the sad emo-influenced lyrics. i would take these guys to New Found Glory any day though- the lyrics are less teenage angst crap; the vocals are the perfect mix of emo-whine and anger; the guitars are fast, fun and, while not entirely original, it doesn't detract from the sound. i was hooked from the moment i heard "Taste of Tears", my personal favorite song on this album. another winner is "Something Beautiful". if songs about broken hearts and relationships are up your alley, check this band out. all emo fans should be required to hear these guys, they are awesome.

I got this disc onlly cuz I heard a song I LOVED on it and thought that 10 bucks is an easy price to pay to get it. However, if your listening to all these other people complaining about this disc cuz they don't like the "Customers also bought..." listing, well shut them up. The list is only a list of what other PEOPLE choose to buy with this disc, not other artist/albums similar to it. READ WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT, if your buying this disc on a wim, STOP! It's a good disc, but listen to the samples and ask around before you put your money on the line, and if you don't like it THEN you have the right to complain. It's a good disc, and don't let these other people talk smack cuz they messed up... Make the choice on your own, it's music, buy what you like and know.
Sorry if I'm being a little rude, but these guys are just annoying.

I heard saw about a 30 sec comercial on Vh1 with cauterize on it, those 30 sec was good enough for me to rush out and buy this cd, i a have to say it is my favorite cd, i can listen to it over and over, and i can't even begin to choose a favorite...The Cd goes basically with the love sick heart broken lyrics, but it does it in such a way that every song is fresh, Everytime i think i can choose a favorite i listen to the next track and can't say which is better...I MEAN IT EVERY SONG IS Great...I can honestly say i will buy evryone of their cd to come, i have never found a band that speaks so personally, Their catchy but with enough raw emotion it makes you feel hurt at the same time.....Go Buy This NOW, if i had to choose one cd this would be it...remember EVERY SONG ROCKS, i can't stress this enough

I've been listening to T.O.E.(take off eh)for about 3 years, and i'd like to make a correction for some people."The moment i cauterize"was there SECOND independent release, there first cd was selftitled. It was also amazing,it had a raw PUNK RAWK sound to it,vocals more like Hot water music and riffs like Strung-out,they were amazing, the moment i cauterize was also amazing, they stepped it up guitar wise on that album, but "so far from real"is deffinitly different.I dont mind the new songs on that album(my everything, killing me,taste of tears,i'll cry tomorrow, shine, still breathing)but their old songs that the remixed completely SUCK compared to the first mixes.if you want to hear good music, download some T.O.E.----good day

Hey!!! Yes I am one of the few lucky people from Oshawa that got to see TOE/Cauterize play in front of super small audiences... and I am one of the few that have a copy of their now discontinued KILLER CD... "The Moment I Cauterize"...... which is why I give "So Far From Real" only 4 stars... I guess I am biased from listening to their old stuff...which is awesome. I just find that this CD is more polished, which I guess happens when you sign with a major label, but I preferred their old CD which was still great quality, yet had more edge and sounded more "real" I guess.... anyways, everyone go out and get this CD...It still kicks huuuuge ass......support the former Dwyer kids!!!!!!
