Beth Lapides is the best kind of truth-teller, the one who makes you think but also laugh, and to see the ripples of your actions intersecting and mirroring in surprising new ways. I'd seen her at Uncabaret many times, but I never realized what a beautiful voice she has and how essentially warm she is in her storytelling. That shines through from the testimony here, from her friends, who become the listener's friends-by-proxy. This book is a boon companion to take along on any road trip, subway ride, walk around the block, or motionless journey into one's own decision process. Just delightful.
