I’ve wanted to stop drinking for a long time and have made so many positive steps and changes to my relationship with alcohol since but could never quite make the full leap to sobriety that lasts. Reading up on how alcohol works and how societal and cultural factors all contribute was fascinating but I always felt as though I couldn’t get over that last hurdle - HOW can I actually do this, and implement this in my life while all of those outside factors are still around me?
This book is EXACTLY what I needed for that next step.
We’re all looking for that magic off switch I think but the truth is it does take work that only we can put in. BUT Sean explains how we can do this and all in such a positive way that it’s doesn’t feel like work to do but the real start of a life changing journey that can only improve my life from that first step. It delves so much deeper into self reflection but like the first book in a very readable and relatable way.
I couldn’t recommend this more, whether you’re just starting to question your drinking habits, looking how to put the puzzle pieces of sobriety together like me or already sober I think there’s so much you can take from this book. It’s ridiculously empowering to know YOU can make this happen (and Sean’s invaluable to getting you there)

Reading this second instalment had so many “ah-ha” moments, it was like I was talking to a friend who was speaking directly to me. I also kind of feel like it’s a book you shouldn’t just read once - as the tips are so good, maybe reading it once and going back to it a month or so later to re-read and reflect on it, choosing new bits to try could be so transformative.
It’s premise of three steps is easy to remember and remind yourself of, and can be transferable skills for all areas of life.
Favourite part: the emotions wheel!
