About the Author

Sean Alexander provides life-changing insights as a former addict who got caught living in the same repeatable hell for decades. 5.0 out of 5 stars A life-changing, excellent book!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 30, 2022
A life-changing book which provides the tools and skills to continue on the journey of staying sober. It's about taking responsibility, owning up and making a change by living a physically and mentally healthy, productive life without alcohol.

5.0 out of 5 stars An insightful read even after reading 25+ quit-lit books
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 2, 2022
I have read both of Sean’s books. Both have provided me with a lot of knowledge and clarity. I have read over 25 quit-lit books so I never know if I will get something NEW out of one. I was amazed at how much I learned in this 2nd book. This book will help me dig deeper in my journey to be the best version and healthiest version of myself. Both physically and mentally. This is an amazing book to take you to the next level in your recovery journey. Whether you’re brand new or months in. A couple of my big takeaways are: make sure your actions align with your standards, and Sean explaining the reasons behind mental conflict and a person’s behaviors.

Sean even engages with his fans and sober friends on Facebook which I find cool and relatable.

Highly recommend Sober on a Drunk Planet 3 Sober Steps!!!

Another very well written book by this author, incredibly insightful, drawing on his own experiences makes his writing identifiable, often hitting a painful chord! I found Sober On A Drunk Planet really helpful and this book also lives up to my expectations. There are some really good explanations for our behaviours and a ton of options and strategies as we all know too well “one size fits all” for overcoming addiction is not going to work. What I got out of this book, unlike an awful lot of others I’ve read is an understanding of how to realise why I’m thinking in mostly negative ways , and basically living my life in a destructive pattern, over and over again. It made me think hard about stuff and take a look at myself then given some really great advice on how to start to change. Fantastic there is also a support group to join.

“Sober on a drunk planet” was the first book I read in my sobriety - so when I knew there was going to be a part two I was positively raving.

Reading this second instalment had so many “ah-ha” moments, it was like I was talking to a friend who was speaking directly to me. I also kind of feel like it’s a book you shouldn’t just read once - as the tips are so good, maybe reading it once and going back to it a month or so later to re-read and reflect on it, choosing new bits to try could be so transformative.

It’s premise of three steps is easy to remember and remind yourself of, and can be transferable skills for all areas of life.

Favourite part: the emotions wheel!
