When I first heard about these publications I was confused because it comes in three parts, and I didn't know if they were the same information in different formats or what. But they all contain different info. These are the three publications; you can buy them separately.
§ The Social Costs of Pornography: A Consultation (DVD of the proceedings)
§ The Social Costs of Pornography: A Collection of Papers (11 research papers from different scholars)
§ The Social Costs of Pornography: A Statement of Findings and Recommendations (a short 60 page commentary)
I started with the shortest one, of course, A Statement of Findings and Recommendations. It was a quick read; I finished it while restoring our PC to life after it had been bullied to the point of death by viruses and malware. The book kept me busy while waiting for all the software to load.
I am so pleased with the efforts of all the scholars involved in this project. Hallelujah, there are smart people out there who are worried too! Is anyone listening? Sound research concerning the danger of pornography is essential to raise awareness and move people to action. Because of the variety of experts involved in the group, their results present a consensus that is not based on one religious or political ideology.
The book presents 8 findings about the effects of pornography. It finishes with specific recommendations for people in the fields of therapy, education, journalism, industry, entertainment, and government.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like a concise, rational state-of-the-situation report. I haven't finished the other two publications yet, but look forward to it when I get the chance.

The subject says all that needs saying. This is a great, simple, and concise review of the harmful effects of pornography.Published on December 28, 2012 by Brandon Stout
I have to agree with the other reviewer, Marty Klein. This manuscript is blatantly misinformative about the research on pornography, with the pretty clear goal of rolling back... Read morePublished on June 27, 2010 by Chris
