After reading this very informative book I not only recommend it to everyone who is involved in social media, blogging, and those getting started I think it's a book to keep re-reading because you will always need to go back and check that you've got it down packed. You're always learning something new. I personally love Chapter 13 on Google + and Chapter 8 on Email, Forums, Blogs, & Websites. Things I didn't know and needed to know now that I am a blogger. These ladies helped me with this great book and I've helped newbies get their blogs started & with their social media boost. This is a keeper!!!

We all know "Dummies" books are cut and dry and follow a specific set of criteria. That's what makes them so successful - we can count on finding exactly what we need inside the cover.

I've read previous books by the lovely authors - Danielle Elliott Smith & Aliza Sherman. And while I knew this wouldn't follow their normal format, I also knew what to expect from the "Dummies" franchise. So I was curious as to whether or not it would be something I could get through.

I'm pleased I set myself to the task, because the authors did not disappoint. They broke down Social Media into chunks I could read and digest, without being overwhelming or "idiot speak." I was surprised exactly how current the book was, considering social networks change constantly and are always updating their systems and methodology. I was able to use a few tips in the book immediately, and plan to implement more in coming weeks and months. (I'm a baby steps kind of gal.)

I appreciate the thoroughness with which the book is written, and the clear-cut manner of the guidelines. An excellent read for anyone looking to use Social Media to engage their customer base & move their business forward!

Had gotten this book from the library and after reading it decided to add it to my library. It walks you through each form of social media step-by-step explaining each in detail which I found more than helpful. After the explanation comes info in terms of how to effectively use the particular format outlined. Well worth adding to your library.

Social Media Engagement for Dummies is a great book for anyone who wants to use the media for business purposes. I personally am new to the world of social media and I found this to be a great guide. This book starts with the basics, What is social media? That is pretty basic and where I was at when I started reading this book. The book tells you how you can connect with your customers and building things like trust, how to start a conversation, setting goals and the mechanics of how to get this done. The book demystifies things like forums, websites, blogs, and e-mail.

What I liked was the instruction on how to navigate the various engagement sites. There are whole sections on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Lilnkedin and Google+ . Because there are so many social media sites it involves a learning curve to get them all down. The information provided about these commonly used sites was very helpful to me in getting started. There is a chapter on You Tube and a chapter on mistakes to avoid in your quest to attract customers.
