Social Welfare: Politics and Public Policy (Research Navigator Edition, with Themes of the Times for Social Welfare Policy) (6th Edition)

This is the textbook our brilliant professor selected for our social welfare policy class. However, one has to be a dedicated reader of social welfare policy to continue reading it because this textbook is densely written, or it may just be the subject matter. One chapter was exceedingly long; it was 119 pages! Nevertheless, it was up-to-date, as it included the policies of the current presidential administration. Contemporaneous history I've lived through was factual and accurate. It has detailed bibliography and reference sections.

The book arrived right on time and in excellent condition. I ordered two other textbooks in the order and I have to admit this one is not quite as interesting as the others. But it was still a good buy and I can easily recommend it if it's an option. On the other hand if it's required it's still a good read as far as textbooks go. Much better than some I've struggled with over the last eight years.

I read this book for my social welfare class as required for my social work major. It was very informative and well written.
The perspective it was written from was unbiased and the information in the book was both relevant and pertinent to what my class was studying.

It is a textbook and I technically ordered the wrong edition. The book is a good book if you would like to understand what was going on in the social world a few years back. As with all political textbooks they change regularly. I ended up buying a newer edition.

This book is actually pretty descriptive. I feel that overall it grasp a good understanding on policy and it makes it easy to read. I still have the book and I don't want to sell it because I know I can be helpful later

This book is actually one of the better textbooks I've been asked to spend some time with--and there have been quite a few. The chapters are long--30+ pages, and its the typical dry stuff...but its current which helps keep it interesting.
